That's the funniest **** I heard in a long time.

 

I think it's mainly a problem of scale or dimension just like in the economies. The american boxing market is much bigger and there have not been sufficient flows of persons and of other goods/services ( broadcasts and information) from one point to the other. Therefore, the american boxing fan must make little coherent attempt to take performance measures into account and unashamedly doesn't take the subjectivity out of whether bigger markets always perform better than smaller markets. Globalisation is basically a new phenomenon and boxing has not become borderless as yet - there is always a chance that an european fighter fails miserably in the US and the other way around.

 

American's don't like to be upset. Losing is something that many American were raised not to accept. Now that our boxers are getting embarrassed by so called soft euro white guys, they can't stand it. The truth in my opinion, is that Americans aren't hungry. We've grown into a bunch of fat flabby overweight losers who talk a lot of ****, but do nothing to back it up. The blame is rooted in our politics, lawyers and democrats.

 

I disagree, the US is becomeing a joke venue nowadays. You had 9000 for Pavlik V Taylor!!!! Thier were more Brits than americans at the Hatton-Mayweather fight! You cant produce a spectacle! 20,000 at Hatton-Mayweather, we could have it in England in front of 80k, even Calzaghe -Kessler did 50k or so. The US no longer produces the atmosphere or the arses on seats, its living of its name that it was 'once' the centre of boxing, not so much anymore.

My point proven then, you arnt the centre of the boxing world if you cant sell tickets for ****! The US has lost its shine, who cares if people 'once' saw Vegas as the centre of world boxing. Its not anymore! Considering the size of the US you dont put that many quality fights on!

**** competition and bad decisions happen here regularly, but we just turn a blind eye to it. It's a double standard.
