...And against a weight drained zombie Dawson at that? Dawson was a walking corpse that night, no wonder he was getting KO'd in sparrings, zombie Dawson gets stopped by almost anybody at 168 and if he fights at that weight again he'll get killed And this was Andre ¨potential-P4P-king¨ Ward only fight this year. what a joke. Somebody should inform the stay-at-home disgrace that he's no superstar and that fighters with no draw power like him aren't entitled to be inactive asses like Mayweather is. Ward has no right to fight only once per year, much less to do it only once in a mismatch, like the Dawson fight was. But hey, at least he's stepping up the competition with shot, fresh from rehab Pavlik next year, which will probably be Ward's only fight in 2013:happy
Whilst in that time Froch has fought Bute, with Kessler next. Ward's management need to step it up, fans aren't going to stay interested if Ward continues fighting drained guys who were getting KO'd in sparring by Miranda, and hungover Pavlik :-( Ironically, Bute has had a much tougher 2012 than Ward by fighting Froch and Grachev, and they say Bute is protected!
They've been in defensive mode for the past several months.:-( Quite sad from a bunch of delusional fans!
Try again because I dont like Calzaghe at all :hi: Ward fans should realize there are plenty of reasons to dislike Ward and being a Calslappy fan is the last of them
I can see how he can be off putting. Sorry for confusing you with another poster. This just seems so "team elite" like. Primarily, Ward was healing a broken hand and giving himself some time to recover from the Super Six. I think his idea that Bute would beat Froch and set up a huge payday blew up in his face and left him without an opponent until HBO fighter Dawson called him out in order for HBO to get him on their network. HBO had Ward on the air during the Cotto/Mayweather fight in May, before the Dawson fight was even announced.
Who besides Froch has fought better comp over their last 4 or 5 fights at 168? You can talk about Bute, but ironically he got KTFO by a guy Ward dominated. Hatin' just to hate is what this thread sounds like already.
The whole he lost to a guy who Ward beat just doesn't work Foreman KTFO Frazier, who beat Ali - So what chance does Ali have against Foreman? See what I mean? :hey Ward should have fought Bute instead of Froch, but he didn't want the fight, and Froch took the glory. Ward gets no credit whatsoever for Froch beating Bute, no matter what Ward fanboys think
I'll agree that Ward should have fought Bute. But there's no way you can prove he didn't want the fight. Was he a little testy about Bute waltzing around the Super Six and getting a clean shot? Yes. Does that prove Ward ducked Bute? No.
I dodn't say Ward deserves credit for Froch beating Bute, only pointing out why it didn't happen. And you still haven't answered my question. Who besides Froch has fought better comp over their las 4 or 5 fights than Ward? You can make excuse on Dawson all day, but he was the one who called for the fight at 168 and he was a p4p top 10 fighter at the time. Great win for Ward! Now answer my question son.
What did Kelly Pavlik do to earn a shot? :huh As for Ward not wanting the fight, he may have wanted it later on who knows But after the super 6 he wanted nothing to do with Bute, hence why his team never contacted Bute's team about making the fight. That's why Bute signed to fight Froch, and Froch took all the glory. Now Carl is making a $3m dollar payday to fight Kessler again, while Ward fought drained Dawson and is now fighting Pavlik. Between those two fights he won't make nearly as much as Froch will for this one fight with Kessler
So it should just be forgotten about even though Dawson wanted 168? Even though he was a top 10 p4p fighter? atsch
