Why are Ali and Leanard underrated in a ATG ranking sense?

Fair enough. At least you don't have 'em Top 5 anymore.
So what is your top ten then ?

And I have to tell you something, your avatar really takes a lot out of me.

I have Ali at 8 and Leonard at 20. They're pretty much fixed there. Out of all the fighters that have ever lived, I would say they are more than fair rankings for them. That is very high, and I would have no qualms about anyone placing Ali as high as 6 and Leonard as high as 11.

ALi didnt throw body shots like Roy Jones. Jones is in my opinion the TRUE Sugar Ray along with the original. He had no fear of opponents and could go as far as he wanted

as crazy as it seems, I think had leonard beaten up pryor, prople today would be calling it a cherry pick considering the wars with alexis and the lack of any victory at the wieght class.

Obviosuly staying at MW and fighting the likes of sumbu, hearns, barkley, nunn, graham, jackson, mccallum etc would be brilliant but that's the kind of thing that stops us talking about top 20 (which I think he's almost a lock for) and top 10 (which he would be had he done the above)

Walker Smith is overrated as well , but , 2 say him & Roy Jones were nearly equal in terms of greatness is a big insult 4 him .
I hope that there is no need 4 explanation .
RJJ is closer 2 Ray Leonard , maybe slightly higher , maybe slightly lower .
If d lack of body punching was my main problem with him , I might have ranked him almost as high as others . Since I made a thread dedicated 2 him alone , and another 1 dedicated 4 his biggest "win" , I assume there is no need 4 repeating it here .

I m not sure what 2 blame . Maybe with stronger bones in his fists he could have been a real great if everything else was kept d same , maybe his "skills" were puny , maybe d problem was in his head . What i do know 4 sure is that most of his important fights' outcomes have no meaning and never had . And since i already explained it all in my thread , i will spare us all from repeating it here .

Where in my post did i say he had his best years taken from him?
I'll save you the time checking, i didnt say it.

You also say the guy is right. The guy was offering up why some MAY not rate them, it wasnt necessarily his opinion hence his post back to me saying, and i quote, "You are correct".

I aint gonna argue with you RR. We are both poles apart in our opinions (and thats all they are at the end of the day) and i dont think we'll ever agree when it comes to SRL, so, for my part anyway, i'll agree to disagree

    how is Robinson overrated?

and Roy was the best of his generation for at least ten years straight. no one could compete with him

Leonard? he's nowhere near what Jones was. He had two big fights, that's it. the other big fight was a bunch of crap everyone was saying looked fixed. I dont believe in him. He was a GOOD fighter but the moment they put him in with the real goods (norris) he got exposed and no one could save him. All they did was make excuses afterwards which is what I expected them to do

it's not hate, I'm just telling it like it is

Ali, he had two fights with Liston, then two quick fights after the layoff. unlike Leonard's retirement, Ali's was for real, not staged. He then went after Frazier and wouldve had another two years after except that Joe took a fight with Foreman for 850 K instead of 3 mil he wouldve got for Ali rematch

Ali took them ALL on including Norton, Lyle, Young, Holmes, even Berbick (future champ) that's why he ranks so high on my all time list and no one since even comes close to being the draw Ali was

Sure I have other heavies ranked over him, Bowe, Dempsey, Johnson, Jeffries but there will never be another Ali like draw to the sport
