Compared to MMA or especially older wrestling belts(the winged eagle, the Big Gold belt etc), I find boxing belts to look uninspired, generic, and toy like. Is this down to stubborn tradition, cheapness, or what? I really wish Reggie Parks had been given the chance to redesign some of these belts, may he rest in peace.
Nah man. I actually think boxing has the nicest belts. Especially Fury’s Union Jack version of the WBC. THAT thing is cool looking
Not all of them are ugly, the Lonsdale belt looks great in my opinion, especially the older ones made of real gold. But yeah the major titles do look cheap and tacky. I guess it's a cost thing, these sanctioning bodies are all about money, why pay a real designer good money to design a belt and why make a belt that costs a lot when it just cuts into profits.
you have to be joking the mma belts look like they are out of the argos catalogue for wee boys they are cheap rubbish looking things
The UFC belt is painfully generic. It looks like something He-Man or the ThunderCats would have worn. I honestly like all the flags on the WBC belt, but i don't like the buttons with the boxers' faces on them. That looks silly.
I always thought the ibf belt looked the coolest. WBC looks good too since it’s different from all the others. If there was a belt with the wbc’s shape with ibf colors I’d go pro right now and take it.
