Why are boxing fans always so worried about "What's good for the sport"???

    **** that.

Enjoy the fights. Enjoy the hype, the circus, the sideshows. Root for your man. **** the ones you don't like. Like any other sport.

I know boxing has taken a dive in popularity in a lot of places, but frankly, I don't give a ****. Everyone talks about casual fans and ****. So what? There ain't enough room on the bandwagon. If people would rather watch two guys hump around on the floor in tight draws, be my guest.

    Relax. Boxing ain't dying people!

    Too much tradition.
    Too much history.
Too easy to imitate and relate to.
Hand to hand combat is the most instinctive and natural form of competition.
    and...
The science is too ****ing sweet!

    Why?

Because the sport is declining in the places where it used to be most popular

Yes its increasing in popularity in new countries , but that should be adding to its overall popularity, not even-ing it out

I think it arises in some way from the common misconception that "boxing is dying." I chuckle when anyone repeats that nonsense. if boxing is dying, this is the most prolonged death scene history has ever witnessed.

Great post. Boxing is doing well. Just look at the viewership on HBO, Sho, and PPV.

Like m8te said, this is the longest death ever; it's been "dying" for over 20 years.

Seriously. People say the hate n **** kills boxing slowly.

Bitches, if you walk down the wrong alley in LA with a Celtics jersey you best know how to fight.

    So ****ing what?

So is education! So is Having kids! But that **** ain't goin nowhere!

As long as people think they're tougher than other people, there will always be an interest in seeing who can whip who's ass. That will never die, I don't care how pussified the mainstream sports scene becomes.

Look at other sports. You know the best way to get your sport on the news? Let their be some hands thrown. People love that ****. Nothing like it in the world ...except ****in.

I go to a lot of sporting events. No matter what is going on in the game, as soon as a fight breaks out the entire crowd watches it. I've seen crowds ignore playoff games over fistfights.

Fighting is natural to man; other sports are not.

 I remember at the Williams-Margarito fight at the Home Depot Center, there was a fight in the stands, and everone was breaking their neck to see both fights.

After the fight Paul was like "Did you see the fight in the stands? I missed it!" :patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch

Because after Floyd and Pac retire we're ****ed. No big olympic stars coming like Floyd, Vargas, Cotto, Oscar, no undefeated bruisers breaking ground.

Hopefully Bradley uses 24/7 to his advantage and creates a star.

This is not going to happen. You have to capture your ethnic or cultural background first then gain other cultures appreciation. Black people are not going to rally behind Bradley they will just watch his fights on HBO. People are not going to have Tim Bradley fight parties or go to Vegas to see him fight.

Crazy. Raider games were always an adventure at best and the bleachers at Dodger Stadium always have fights popping off. I'm an Angels ticket holder so we get some action when the Dodgers or Red Sux are in town.

BTW, I love Home Depot for boxing.

Let's hope so, unfortunately there really isn't anyone famous for him to make his name off of like Pacquiao and Floyd did by fighting Oscar.
