Punching isn`t like hitting a baseball, there have been hard punchers that didn`t have big muscles in the past.
Because the impact of loading gloves is clear and unambiguously harmful. The impact of PEDS is, at best, debatable.
How come? Look at Marquez vs Pacquiao. He could have ended up like Gerald Mcclellan. I put Aaron Pryor in the same category as Luis Resto. Or if Pacquiao was on steroids vs Cotto. Thats the exact same category as what margarito probably did. We as fans are way too lenient with this. Like taling drugs and driving is the biggest sin ever yet we condone drinking and driving cause everyone does it. Yet when a boxer dies at the hand of a roided boxer we would call for a lifetime ban.
Loaded gloves should be a prison sentence. I'm for longer stricter bans for peds and repeat offenders being booted.
The only Illegal gloves I know were the ones Panama Lewis removed the horsehair from & let Luis Resto ruin Billy Collins life. In my book ANY fighter that cheats to gain an advantage over his opponent whether with ed's , Loaded gloves or crooked judges should be BANNED FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!! & JAILED!!!!!! Using Ped's is just as big a cowardly move. The State Commissions know the fighters that are on Ped's they just pretend not to notice because those guys are their $$$$$$$$$$$$$ COWS
I'm for Permanent bans for all blatant illegal acts. Trouble is th Commission's leading $$$$$$$ makers would lose their licences so it will never happen
I don't think people know how brass knuckles work they rest in your palm they don't lay across the knuckles but mother****ers will ignoring this
Permanent ban for PED's will be ok when the sport wouldn't be so corrupt and the control body wouldn't be in control of only one nation. With biased people or money - no.In other words - never. Better than permanent ban(which is utopia, there will always be protection for some) is making it legal for all, not like now, only for the chosen and those who have people with millions behind them. For me, it would be very interesting to see a tournament with big names and without these anti doping white knights.
It's funny to me that "loaded" gloves are talked about so much. As far as I'm aware no one has ever been proven to have gone into a boxing match with loaded gloves, and I doubt many have even tried it. Plaster of Paris is a myth, and you're ot sneaking a lump of metal in with, at the very least, half a dozen people watching and scrutinizing your every move. You could try and sneak in an old sweaty gauze that's dried out and hardened, Margarito style, but even then I think the difference something like that would make is negligible when you stick the gloves over the top of it, and even then I think someone would notice. Saying that I've always scratched my head over no one noticing that the padding was removed from Resto's gloves, when he did what he did to Billy Collins,so I guess it's not impossible that someone has snuck something that could do damage into their gloves.
