There are a rash of cancellations again. Boxing should take it que from the UFC which announces an event and has several high profile fights matched. If one fight on a UFC show falls through then Oh well, Too bad but there are three more fights. Boxing cancels the entire event. The UFC never cancels and they still sell out. Boxing has a lot to learn.
Boxing since it has began has been promoted this way because the fighters sell the fight not the boxing. The UFC has taken the WWE template and can sell any arena in the US aslong as its UFC. UFC is the brand not the UFC fighters. Its a very American idea and an effective one, it attracts the average Joe, the same sort of average Joe who eat McDonalds while in Paris... I also doubt 90% of the UFC audience knows too much about the background of the fighters who are fighting, how good they were before they got a contract or in fact what the hell is going on - they are sold cage fighting and fireworks and that is what they get!
Outside of the McDonald's in Paris part (that is funny), I'm pretty sure 90% of the UFC base isnt there for any kind of fireworks. Then again, Rich Franklin was a teacher at my school that is literally 2 minutes from my home, so yeah, me and everyone else I know do know a thing or 2 about the fighters... This post was obviously done by someone who isnt American... and it was.... so no harm. :good I wonder if Brits come to America and eat fish...?? :yep
