We claim Hatton as great, yet the rest of the world laughs at how average he was, everytime our best steps in with the cream of the Americans, they get brutalised beyond belief.

I wish we could fight like the Americans and Latinos, our fighters are soft protected and overhyped.

Because Hatton is the only decent fighter we've produced.

There are as many british fans that would say he was great as there are that would say he was average (which he wasn't by the way)
Why make such a sweeping statement. There are plenty of americans that liked his style.
And EVERYTIME one of our own steps in they get brutalised!!!
FFS man, YOU are what is wrong with boxing fans in this country

Look at Kevin Mitchell, that was hilarious how far away from world class he was, yet everyone was beliving he might actually win.

Mitchell and Hatton hardly equate to the whole of British Boxing.

Khan, Froch, Calzaghe, Haye, Benn, Eubank, Collins, Hamed, Conteh, Lewis.......etc, etc.

All these fighters have proved that they can handel world level.

All you have proved is that you are an ignorant sweaty sock!!!:bbb

Yes that was a crap performance and Froch lost as well (albeit with no shame in a foty candidate). However both Haye and Khan scored decent victories. Although I'm sure you can spin those victories in a really negative light if you want to.

I don't think anyone actually thought Mitchell had a big chance of winning. Plus his fight against Kats was a test.

A test which many other fighters have taken and failed.

Boxing isn't big in Britain, which is why we don't produce so many great fighters.

Just look at our domestic scene now though.

    So many talents.

Hatton was average??? Fair enough he might not have had the silky skills, but he was THE MAN at 140 for a couple of years and was proven as a world class operator... fair enough he was a tad overhyped but the guy wasn't exactly blasted out as soon as he stepped upto world level ala Mitchell. We also had the best HW of the past 20 years, I think that counts for soemthing.

You're kidding right, he was favourite at the bookies and if you look back a few weeks most here were picking him to win.

Glad to see our (as in Scottish race) reputation of being dour and negaive is being smashed.

    The bookies are stupid.

I had Mitchell winning via decision, but I knew Kats was the bigger favourite in the fight and I wasn't surprised with what happened.

this is the point though mate, not everyone believed. I didn't for one. I thought he might have lasted out a bit longer, as he does have good ring skills, but i was saying prior to the fight, Kats was dangerous, and could do Mitchell.
All i am saying is avoid the sweeping statements.
