The US had been assisting Britain long before Pearl Harbor, slick. In May of 1941, Roosevelt ordered some 2 million tons of merchant shipping to be built, without which the life-line that Britain depended on would have dried up and with it you ****ing Limeys.

In order for Britain to survive, the Allies had to manufacture transport shipping at a rate greater than what the Huns could sink. Without the shipyards in the upper Midwest, West Coast, and the South turning out merchant ships, the Battle of the Atlantic would have tipped to the Germans because the flow of materials across the Atlantic would have slowed immeasurably, choking Britain off from a critical life-line.

Yeah, I would say that's just about life saving assistance, wouldn't you??

and so you should.it has been pointed out a couple of times, not that you take any notice, that america is much bigger than the island that is the united kingdom.therefore you would produce many many more fighters than the brits.just common sense really.

I notice how you have changed the rhetoric from we "got ****ed properly" to "we lost the war." Say, why is that? Is it because I made you look like ****ing idiot???

As to your Ho Chi Minh quote, Uncle Ho said that to the French, not the Americans.

We lost the Vietnam War? You do realize we were allied with the South Vietnamese, fighting to to ensure the survival of South Vietnam, yes??
You also realize that Australian, New Zealand and South Korean forces also fought in South Vietnam against the North Vietnamese and "Viet Cong," yes??

So allow me to illustrate the mind-numbing doubl standards you **** Limeys routinely trade in. In Korea, the United States didn't win because it had the support of UN forces. There we Americans were merely a particpant. Yet, in South Vietnam-- and despite the millions of South Vietnamese who fought for the Saigon regime-- we Americans, and we alone apparently, lost the Vietnam War. :rofl:rofl

Come back and try again when you have something a little more interesting to offer, or have at least obtained a modicum of insight on the Indochina Wars.

People just like to see the English come unstuck, its cos throughout history we have been a strong nation and it annoys the Americans and other Euro countries. They enjoy a laugh when we fail. The eurovision thing(did not watch it)says it all, nobody voted for the english.

Ummmm...... let me try this again.

I already addressed the proportional question, not that you'd take any notice.

No, *******, aid is a aid and a gift is a gift.

Every penny is paid back? Is that so?? Have you compensated the families of Americans whose loved ones perished keeping the Atlantic life line open prior to our formal declaration of war against the Japanese (and you know the rest), such as those 115 American seaman who perished in the sinking of the USS Reuben James in October of 1941????

Oh, yeah-- that's right..... you cannot place a dollar figure on a life, can you???

    Dickhead.

American war?? That's funny, because I know a fair amount of Vietnamese emigres, and I have never heard one refer to it as the "American war."

Ummm.... when the US ended active combat operations, South Vietnam was still standing, was it not???

Keep yammering on about Vietnam, however, your posts are quite amusing.
