Why are fights taking so long to make lately?

Damn, it is shame. Both of them then were in good shape and not too old.
Maybe they did not had put enough in marketing because both boxers were from EE?
This was good fight, especially if bear in mind their amateur experience. Just Bet alone had fought vs Usyk, Hunter, Kovalev in am ranks.
Bet actually was able even to box for cards, just looks that in pro ranks he switched to something like Subriel Matias: gradual damage artist to achieve stoppages. Gvozdyk too had decent am exp and I think both of them then were stuff a bit too much for prime shape Kovalev ( Kovalev was very good boxer ).
    It really was Mega Fight.;)

I think they did 650,000 views.

Not that that poor, but still I get the point. Poor for the caliber of fight it was.

Its going to end up with some wonky years, kind of like how a lot of things were frozen during WW2

HW division was stagnant even before covid. Highly ranked boxers fights in this division: some once during 12-18 months, some maybe 2X during 18-20 months.
Rare cases when boxers fought 2X or 3X per 1 year. I mean highly ranked ( top 50 boxers ).
CW division now too looks is lethargic. Before covid it was very active division, competitive.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not over the moon with many of the upcoming matches on that schedule, but I'm not quite feeling dejected and depressed by the sport quite enough to have zero interest at all. But I get where you're coming from, this last two years through Covid, the sport has been as off kilter as the rest of us.

The ones I do care about at least a little are these....

Kazuto Ioka vs. Francisco Rodriguez Jr
    Souleymane Cissokho vs. Ismail Iliev
    Tony Ioka vs. Petar Milas
    Mathieu Bauderlique vs. Igor Mikhalkin
    Junto Nakatani vs. Angel Acosta
    Evgeny Tishchenko vs. Dmitry Kudryashov
    Andy Vences vs. Jono Carroll
Oscar De La Hoya vs. Vitor Belfort
    Arslanbek Makhmudov vs. Erkan Teper

And come on Kirk, these two are incredible match ups!!! You've got to show up of them.:deal:
    Stephen Fulton vs. Brandon Figueroa
    Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk

Oh!!! you mean you're not into fights like Estrada and Gonzalez? There's more action and skill in 3 rounds of that fight than 12 rounds of anyone else. I understand though, I believe American fans were never really captured by the smaller fighters

Man, I straight up missed the Usyk fight when I glanced at the list.

Ya Im pumped for that one for sure. One of the best fights of the year (for me and my limited perspective these days).

People keep catching the flu in camp as they have always done but for some reason its become a valid excuse to delay fights. Interesting.

Social media. They don't even actually want to fight anymore. More money in being an "influencer". They just want to talk **** and grow their following.
