Why are Fury fans so quiet about this and pretend it didn't happen?

For about two years now, we've been hearing how Fury is the no. 1 HW who is the biggest draw, Usyk draws SFA and even the 30% offered to Usyk was generous. The loudest Fury fans kept claiming how big an international superstar Fury was, with Netflix shows and whatever, and he can ask for any amount, he can do whatever he wants.

Then suddenly, reality hit hard. The Ngannou fight was a massive flop - so much so that the Saudis lost tens of millions of dollars on putting the show together that sold so badly it's not even funny.

Where are the Fury fans now who kept talking about what a big draw and superstar Fury was and he could do anything from WWE to exhibitions and TV shows because it would sell like crazy? We have hard evidence here that it's absolutely not the case. Fury can put bums in seats at home but that's about it - almost nobody cares about him outside the UK. He is not the no. 1 HW in any regard. In terms of draw, it's Joshua, in terms of who's top dog, it's the unified champion Usyk with three belts.

Why aren't you talking about Fury's alleged massive draw and worth now, boys? Why are you so quiet about it suddenly?

Would it have performed better if Usyk was the one facing Ngannu?

I don't know and honestly, I don't care as it's not the point.

The point is, Fury was labelled as this international superstar who basically could do anything and it would sell like crazy. Not Usyk, not Joshua, not Zhang, not Humpty Dumpty but Fury was this alleged international draw that was supposed to mean carte blanche for his exhibition as a reigning WBC champion and why he was entitled to 70% against Usyk.

The headlines next day would be better when usyk would leave the ring with broken ribs on a stretcher .

Lol. And you are not a Fury stan, right? Just checking.

In any case, remember Ali: you can’t hurt what you can’t hit.

Way to contribute to the thread btw. You are a Fury fanboy, even though you lie and say you aren’t. Where were the huge PPV numbers? Why aren’t Fury the one who leads the PPV records if he is such a megastar and draw?

To answer your question : low ppv numbers since nobody believed this fight will be so good . Rematch will burst ppv numbers .

Being a fan of a fighter is not a problem. Lying about it is. I never lied about which fighters I like and why. You keep lying about being a Fury fan and it’s pretty much a consensus here about you being a liar in this regard. We can make a poll about it you are adamant it’s not true. People see you, mate, no matter how much you deny the obvious.

As for you explanation: bwahaha, what a load of nonsense. Right, it was expected to flip, that’s why Frank Warren promoted it as “game changer” that has the potential to break PPV records. That’s why the Saudis poured money all over the event - they don’t know business, they can’t handle money, so they invested tens of millions of dollars into something they knew beforehand it wouldn’t yield profit.

Absolutely hilarious mental gymnastics, as expected from a Fury fanatic.

Another Fury fanatic, Usyk would have schooled Ngannou. Your hero nearly lost to a guy without a single pro boxing fight to his name.

Terrible PPV numbers because no one cares. Fury has lost a significant proportion of his fans and performed awfully against a guy with 0 pro fights.

I don't care personally and this should not be a selling factor for any fights, but Boxing politics is so so dumb.
And there is no surprise as Fury was never a big draw. He sold stadiums, as he was on top after the fights with Wilder and public believed the hype. Still his PPV numbers were so bad, they decide to hide it from the public.
Now the Saudi event on Dec. 23th will sold big, but AJ is not the sole reason for that, the whole card is phenomenal.
And to be fair unless Saudi put some insane undercard on Usyk-Fury, the Dec. 23th event will prolly outsell the Undisputed fight as well. And Fury is to be blamed on that, as his performance against Ngannou was crap. He lost that fight period !!! Needed a corrupt officials, blatant elbow that should have DQ or 2 point deducted for him, as well as uncalled a KD.
Good luck selling that fight now.

You're gonna have to pack this sort of thing in. Nobody wants to read this stuff for the next four months.

Are you mad Fury is going to get a record payday? Matching Floyd Mayweather?

When Fury beat Wlad he probably had about £400k to his name after taxes. He was not set to retire at all. Usyk exactly the same. Before making a fool of Eddie Hearn & AJ, Usyk had barely earned a penny from a career of hard boxing at the very top. Enough that he could have retired and eeked out a very frugal existence in eastern Europe but nothing special which a fighter of such a calibre is deserving of.

Then both of these men through shrewd business and by being the baddest and baldest boxers on the planet have now earned themselves over $100m in just a handful of fights.

God bless them and god bless Tyson Fury.
