why are GBP promoting morales-maidana like a superfight?

The one thing people can't knock is Amir getting in with MAB regardless of his state. People on this Forum saw it as a 50/50 fight and an extremely dangerous fight for him.

It's not his fault that they bought into it. It's not his fault that an accidental clash of heads happened.

The headclash so early made it into a joke of a bout there was no fight just a man with a crimson tide on his face and young lad hitting and moving. It was a horrible to watch.

Credit was there from me and most on here for going in with MAB. Some felt it was going to be a close fight and some felt MAB might win.

It was a great name to have on record for Khan if...if the bout didn't have that nasty headclash and Mr. Parris did things by book and did what was right and called the fight there and then. He didn't and we know why he allowed it to go to 5th round. Shame cos it leaves a really nasty taste.

Yep no ones fault but Parris handling of it was a downright disgrace and it cannot be considered a win of any great deal...should of been waved off as soon as it happened.

Well, while I do agree that it was Parris' main job to call that off, there were other factors...

A 22,000 expectant crowd came for a fight. This was the highest generating PPV to date for Amir. Can you imagine the stick Sky would have got?

And Barrera would never let that **** stop. Too much Mexican heart, but definitely, that's not a win by any means, and I never did consider that a win, so I think you owe someone an apology ;)

Parris job is to protect the fighters safety not worry about the crowd and sky....

Explain why you said ''you know what happened there'' when mentioning MAB vs Khan to Maxwell's post about Morales vs Maidana if you don't consider it win why bring it up? ;)

That's the bit you've got confused on. What I meant by that is, the experience didn't matter in that because Barrera wasn't his former self, so Maxwell saying Morales having experience will win the fight is also wrong, that's why I compared the two fights, because both are done, and all that quality experience has become ring-wear. That's what I meant by "you know what happened there".

I don't tend to word things very well but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.. now where's that apology? :D

I disagree with comparing Khan to Maidana because Khan is a boxer-puncher, Maidana is a puncher with zero boxing skills, If Maidana can try not to get knocked out for 12 rounds he will get a decision.

Khan isn't a puncher, and Maidana clearly does have some boxing skills otherwise he wouldn't have gave Khan as much trouble as he did.

    Ask Maidana's rib cage.

Maidana had Khan in trouble because of his overhand right which caught Khan and had him on the backfoot because of his power not his boxing ability.

Body shots are more about placement than power.

If it was Maidana's power that was troubling Khan, Amir would have been on the canvas. It wasn't his power that had him getting inside over and over.

I never seen Maidana in so much pain in his life, Not even Victor Ortiz who is a "puncher" had Maidana in that much pain.

As for Maidana troubling Khan, I think it was his power not his boxing ability, you think its his boxing ability that troubled Khan fair enough, Either way Maidana was not able to pull the trigger and stop Khan.

He was in pain, because it was an inch perfect shot. Not because of the power Khan put into it.

Obviously his power was what was rocking Khan and had him stumbling like a drunk at times, but it was his boxing that got him in those positions. So to suggest that he has "zero boxing skills" is way off the mark.

come on thats a stupid argument, floyd had mosley hurt more than cotto did, does that make him a puncher?

or how corley making floyd do a chicken dance and oscar de la hoya not making floyd flinch?

and maidana is skilled, if he wasn't he wouldn't have been boxing at this high of a level, he would have been like breidis presscot.

It's an interesting fight, don't forget before the Khan fight Maidana couldn't even put away a shot to bits Corley so I'll be interested to see how this one goes.

If Morales doesn't go to war with him he has a decent shot.
