Why are Jarrett Hurd, Julian Williams and Jeison Rosario so bad now?

I don't understand how they regressed so much, why not come back to Super Welterweight where all three of them managed to be world champions in past.

All 3 basically could have fought at 168 and still would have to cut a good amount of weight. And their fighting styles was fun to watch but taxing to their bodies. I believe Hurd and J Rock effectively ended their careers when they fought as neither has been the same since.

No ****ing way did J-Rock take a career ending beating in that one. Not even close.
Williams, despite being as talented as he was, always showed physical fragility. It was a surprise that he lost to Rosario the way he did, but it´s not that surprising that Rosario was able to stop him.
The long layoffs after this fight clearly hurt him. Williams has no business sharing a ring with Adames. He should not be fighting once a year, it´s ridiculous.

Jarrett Hurd clearly used his size to his advantage. But he also was crafty. Stopping Trout was damn impressive because Trout himself was not a small Jr. Middleweight. But just like Williams, he too started taking long breaks between fights.

Jeison Rosario was the most unfortunate of the bunch. He has wicked power but is the definition of glass. I do feel bad for him.
However, he was not really world class. I think he overachieved and got lucky with matchmaking in a weak division. But in his defense, he did loose to talented guys who were all good punchers.

Inactivity killed Hurd and Williams. They "haven´t been the same" because they haven´t been boxing at all. And since they both move up, they kinda lost the advantages their size gave them.
Rosario simply wasn´t on their level. Yes, I do realize how this sound considering he beat Williams, but he wasn´t as talented or capable as those two. This is a hill I will die on.

Watch that fight again. Jrock and Hurd took a lot of each other that fight. But I do agree about activity. If you notice all the top fighters that lost bad in what we thought were 50/50 fights you’ll see the pattern of inactivity.

    Simple. Their time has passed.

Rosario won a world title yeah? I'm glad he did. I saw that. But he got absolutley plastered by Charlo.
Mendoza bashed the **** out of him too.

    NEXT!

Julian Williams I've never heard of. I don't know every boxer there is. As I said there's too many names, too many belts and too many divisions.

No disrespect. He'd went further than I ever did so God Bless him.

Roll out some achievements and names he beat?

Provodnikov battered Tim Bradley. Doesn´t mean he was on the same level as Marquez and Pacquiao.

Never really rated any of them, 154 is a thin division with very few world class fighters.

    I disagree.
I do not for once think that Provodnikov was ever capable of having the career Bradley had. He simply was not as good.
Just because he arguably beat him, doesn´t mean Provodnikov was on the same level as Bradley. Otherwise we would have seen him on P4P lists and I don´t think you had Provodnikov on yours.

The only thing Bradley did which was any better than what Provodnikov did was fight on even terms with JMM. A very old JMM.

A very JMM that I have no difficulty seeing Provodnikov giving a good fight also.

I never had either fighter on my p4p list, but both were if a very similar level.

Provodnikov was good enough to batter Bradley, of course he was on his level.

    Right.
Rest of his resume be damned. That was it, beating Marquez. That´s all Bradley´s career amounted to. In fact, Provodnikov has just as good of a career, as many meaningful wins and achieved the same accolades.
They were the same in every regard because they had a close fight with each other.

Ross Puritty was just as good as Wladimir Klitchko. They were clearly on the same level and it could be argued that Purrity was better since he got the TKO. This is why Rossy boy won several word titles, was widely recognized as the man to beat in the division and defended one of his belts 18 times in a row. They were on the same level.

It's not all his career amounted to, what I said was the only thing he did significantly better was fight on even terms with JMM, and I'd have favoured Ruslan to do the same at that advanced age.

Did you watch the Purrity fight?
