Why are Lennox Lewis losses to mediocre opposition swept under the rug?

"The Atomic Bull" was a 5/1 underdog with a sub-60% KO ratio who despite his iron chin had lost to 5 fringe contenders/journeymen in his 29 fight career by that point and in the immediate fight after edged a marginal SD win over a beyond washed 45.5 year old Holmes. It's doubtful whether McCall was as good as Andy Ruiz, who many AJ fans have also claimed would KO Wilder. But the difference is that unlike most prominent heavyweight champs, Wilder never lost to one of these B/C level fringe contenders.

I think a massive reason why so many boxing fans trash Wilder is because they know he'd stand a very good chance of KO'ing their favourite fighter (especially if he's a bit chinny) based on his extreme power, length, athleticism and toughness. AJ is better liked partially because you could have confidence that he'd quit or check out against your favourite historical fighter in a hypothetical matchup when the going got tough.

He never dominated mccall in the rematch, that wasn't a "fight". The rahman revenge K.O was awesome I will give him that.

Because he run them back and beat them both. Lennox is an ATG no doubt about it. Beat the best of his era and the last undisputed heavyweight champ.

I don't know , aside from Lewis what was Rahman's best win? Corrie Sanders, Monte Barrett, Berbick. ? Plus he was lit up by Oleg Maskaev twice, Tua, Wlad and Povetkin and dropped a UD to Ruiz
McCall? Aside from Lewis his best wins were a 45 year old Holmes, Bruce Seldon, H. Akinwande, Lance Whitaker ,Fres Oquendo , and Oleg Maskaev.

I think the version of Joshua that beat Wlad would take them both, todays version of Joshua? I'd give McCall a pretty good chance, Rahman not so much.
