And I would include Marcel as a fighter who equals or surpasses Loma in movement. Like a Panamanian piston. A prime champion, ATG talent that Arguello took close as a young, fresh fighter.

 

its hard to explain to these yt boxing fans anything that happened before the start of this millennium, its like it happened before man evolved completely. they wont get it until their kids are laughing at their claims that loma would beat whatever schoolboy crush they may have going at that time.

 

Man, I'm 19, and I know all this stuff. Footage of Arguello is plentiful today, now more than ever, very easy to watch. And boxing history in general. It's laziness and / or slight fanboyism. And no one said Loma wouldn't trouble Alexis at all. It's like a personal attack to some of them.

Hell, just watching a highlight and you'd see Arguello wasn't a 'big swinger'.

im happy to hear that, i would not have made you to be so young, your insight is beyond your years. its good to see young boxing fans who love the sport, not the guy, so that knowledge gets past down to future boxing fans. ive only noticed a couple of you youngsters who know their ****, the rest are here to cheer for flag or family.
the hilarious part is that they point at you and call you biased, while getting a loma tattoo on their chest.

 

Luckily I'm from a Boxing family so my dad had me on that stuff early lol.

And the older / experienced posters here are great. I've learnt a lot from them that I would never know otherwise. So I give them major credit.

 

i was betting nickles on boxing matches every weekend from the time i was 6 years old back in 72. my love for the sport runs deep. many of my closest friends have been boxers, even a world champion. so you can imagine how amusing i find it when my knowledge gets questioned by some muppet who obviously just started watching when he fell in love with the flavor of the month.

 

This notion goes for any successful or popular fighter. Some dickheads here just feel like some fighters SHOULD NOT be popular or have fans that think they are great. SO they up the hate to ridiculously irrational levels.

It's not a hope he loses more so a disgust for his slobbering fans overrating his quality of opposition, touting am acheivments and acting like the privilege of getting the oppurtunity to fight for a title so early on in his career was somehow an accomplishment of his, rather than just appreciating the skill and waiting to see what he's able to actually achieve in the ring
