Why are people being so delusional about Ward?

    Why are people being so delusional about Ward?
    I can understand that most American SMWs fall short against European competition so perhaps this has made the hype go a bit crazy, but look at the facts and consider Ward hasnt fought the current top European SMW (Bute) yet.

    Ward only has 2 top wins one against an unwell double vision suffering Kessler and the other against Froch who if you look at the form line hasnt beaten a top SMW. Froch only got a SD against Dirrell and a MD against Johnson and Froch lost to Kessler and has only won vacant titles.

    If you think Ward has done something incredible than consider in Wards first 5 world title fights he hasnt fought anyone as good as who -

    Calzaghe fought. In Calzaghes first 5 world title fights he had wins over Eubank and Reid.

    Or

    Collins who fought Eubank twice and Benn

    So why are people being so delusional?

    From his win over Froch people have been able to deduce that Ward would 'destroy Calzaghe' and 'utterly beat the **** out Hopkins' also that he's the GOAT at SMW and the 2nd coming of Christ.

    Unbelieveable isnt it!
    Froch has only won vacant titles and to many looked lucky against Dirrell and to some against Johnson

    I give Ward credit for his win, I knew he would beat Froch because he's just too good technically and an overall better boxer then Froch and most people thought the same but when he actually did manage the win all of a sudden people are acting like Ward just beat a 168lb SRR and that this one win suddenly propels him to being the greatest ever SMW :huh, now obviously once he's fought (and if beats) the likes of Dirrel and Bute we can have that conversation but until then it's nothing more then ESB fanboy ******ation kicking in.

    its clear there is a real dearth of talent at 168 right now and not even the glam of the supersix tournament has been able to cloud that cold, hard, irrefutable fact.

    If he beats Bute then he will get some very deserved credit, but Ward doesnt seem interested in Bute, maybe when Bute gets a bit older

    Come on Bailey, be real. The way that Ward has dominated two top smw's in Kessler and Froch has been highly impressive. To deny this is crazy. The guy has a superb skillset and is making world-class fighters look mediocre, no?

    Ward is getting overrated by a lot of people, but what he's done is impressive. No way he's top 3 p4p like some guys are saying at the time

    Dont get me wrong. I am taking to Ward, but Im like this with all heavily hyped fighters until they have really proved themselves.
    Kessler we know was unwell and then Ward had all these stipulations before he entered the ring. Froch lost to unwell Kessler and has only looked good against a fighter coming off a defeat in his last 6 fights.
    If Ward agrees to fight Bute somewhere neutral and wins, I will hold my hands up and say he is clearly the man of his era, but he has to do more than just the hype

    its an esb disease, 85.82% of posters on esb are not capable of backing their opinions up with facts. this type of poster is usually american and is best summed up by the likes of auracle and bernie bellend. hoopsman is following in their footsteps - a minnion with zero boxing knowledge and a giant **** swinging from his forehead.

    Its not bad at all, but in these 5 world title fights -
    Kessler, Green, Bika, Abraham, Froch
    is it better than
    Lacy, Bika, Manfredo, Kessler, Hopkins
