Why are people being so delusional about Ward?

He may well be, but the problem is for him, that the man of the previous era still over shadows him, because all of Wards top wins relate back to him.
Ward hasnt fought a top undefeated champ or fought as the away fighter in a big fight. He is completely over shadowed by the previous man of his era.

It wouldnt hurt for Ward to fight Bute or Andre Dirrell, but both have been exposed

Being undefeated means nothing. Ward has beaten guys who have loads of experience and skills and thays all that matters.

Ward isnt overshadowed by joe at all. He beat Kessler more convincingly and already has a very good cv despjte not even bing in his thirties yet. He has plenty of time pass up calz which isnt very far away at the moment.

There is a big difference beating a top undefeated fighter because they have a mindset that they cant be beaten. Ward hasnt been in with a fighter who has that yet, he has been the only one with that and fighting guys that have already been exposed

An unwell double vision suffering fighter, already exposed by Calzaghe who beat a prime undefeated fighter.
Bute beat Johnson more convincing than Froch just before he fought Froch, what does that mean?
Still if you go down that route, Calzaghe beat Bika more convincingly than Ward as did Bute

and already has a very good cv despjte not even bing in his thirties yet.

So did Calzaghe.
Before Calzaghe was 30 he had beaten Eubank a better win than anything Ward has, Reid, Woodhall, Veit who were all at some point SMW champs as well as Sheika and Starie. Thats a far greater resume

Calzaghe beat undefeated Kessler a better win than anything Ward has
Beat undefeated Lacy which is up there with anything Ward has done
Beat Eubank a better win than anything Ward has
Beat Mitchell which is right up there as well as Brewer, Reid Woodhall, Veit all have been SMW champs as well as many top contenders.

You are right to say its not fair because Ward hasnt had as long a career, but he is a long way off and every top fighter Ward faces dates back through the losses to Calzaghe. Hes in his shadow

Ward only has 2 top wins one against an unwell double vision suffering Kessler and the other against Froch who if you look at the form line hasnt beaten a top SMW. Froch only got a SD against Dirrell and a MD against Johnson and Froch lost to Kessler and has only won vacant titles.

If you think Ward has done something incredible than consider in Wards first 5 world title fights he hasnt fought anyone as good as who -

Calzaghe fought. In Calzaghes first 5 world title fights he had wins over Eubank and Reid.

Or

Collins who fought Eubank twice and Benn
