Listen why I say this is because Rios IMO is number ten/nine at welterweight atm. He Has never been stopped, posses a great chin, has power, has heart and will come to fight. He has also grown into the 147 pound limit for god sake. Have you seen the guy on fight night??. In all honesty this is a good fight because name me other fighters that are legitemally are more proven than Rios that Brook could face august 29.. I'll help you out.

Bradley - with the same promoter as rios and arum would want the fight to be in the US. Brook is the champ so has no obligations to go there apart for mayweather or pac IMO.

Thurman - fights in july so won't be ready in a month and also won't come to the UK no matter what he says.

Khan - Ducking Brook and has ramadan.

Marquez - Willing to come UK but Knee Injury

    Pac - Injured.

Maidana - Hearing he is carrying 190 pounds of weight and hasn't ever mentioned brook. He wouldn't come to the UK.

Please name other fighters with legitmate reasons that Brook could face.. People love to complain I swear.
At least brook is facing someone who could be a threat and unlike khan n thurman with algieri (who he choked on) and Thurman with collazo. Jesus.

If its a UK fight, and Sky subscribers not HBO subscribers foot the bill then sure - I have no problem with it. If HBO uses my subscriber money to put on this mismatch, I'm going to be somewhat peeved.

Would prefer Rios to have a better test recently than a cracked up Alvarado though since that fight was more or less handed to him on a plate then we have the Chaves farce... Brook is a solid enough welterweight but he only has one decent win, Rios has been in with Pacquiao and could prove hell if he is rightly motivated which he will be, Brook should win a UD though, especially in england.

Brook's next fight is not my problem. HBO spending money on mismatches however is, because I pay for it.

Rios would want the fight, not sure how I am talking on his behalf just because I think he would lose and badly. Rios would love to make the good money trying to prove me and everyone else wrong.

Like I said - if its a Sky production in UK then, sure, cool, its whatever. Brook has to fight someone.

Rio keeps getting recycled in these "higher profile" matchups that he hasn't earned. This is an excellent showcase fight for Brook, I don't really see how he loses. Rios was getting torn up by Chaves, I predict the same against Brook.

It does make me laugh. Brook was being accused by a whole bunch of clowns on these boards of 'ducking' Rios. Now it looks like that the fight is going to happen suddenly it's a cherry pick joke fight that nobody wants to see.

    Only on ESB.

It's an ok fight for Brook, nothing more nothing less. I've no problem with him fighting Dan (a mandatory), Gavin (only two months later) and Rios (a decent opponent) following a comeback from being stabbed. Not many other title holders fight three times a year.

With Maidana inactive, Khan refusing to fight, Porter already beaten, Pac out of the picture and a Floyd fight very unlikely, the best opponent Brook could possibly fight in the division is Rios or Thurman, everyone else ranks behind. Don't throw in the names of some prospects or newcomers. I don't see how anyone can complain about this fight. It's a good fight. A very good fight.

There is also Bradley but he has a fight lined up.
Rios is though and he has name recognition. Beating him in will give Brook well deserved recognition.
