Why Are People Complaining about Mayweather Fighting Cotto?

Floyd's word is not gospel. FAR from it, actually.

If it was, then Pac is on PEDs.

And I don't think he is, as I'm sure you don't think he is. So you can't just pick and choose what Floyd says as being correct to suit your agenda.

So what Floyd said about Cotto means niente.

The Marg defeat certainly effected him, no doubt about it, but that was 3 years ago. He's at a new weight, has had a string of wins (1 of which avenged that Marg loss), and is more seasoned/experienced.

Far from the "joke" of a fight that people want to make it out to be. Other than Pac and Martinez (both of which can't be made), what's a better fight for him?

 

i think its a good fight, and for the good of boxing, I WOULD ****ING LOVE TO SEE COTTO BEAT MAYWEATHER, THEN RETIRE, JUST TO **** ALL OVER ARUM.

 

The main reason was just these people hasn't forget how *****s bashed cotto as a fighter and his accomplishment just to discredit pac's demolition of cotto. Now they all praise cotto because void chose to fight him.

 

I can see how floyd fans wouldn't like this fight. Cotto can jab and that is Mayweather's worst nightmare.

If Cotto can pressure and jab all night, Mayweather will not look good, and that's against a guy that his fans think he is supposed to beat easily.

Mayweather's legs did not look good vs Mosley and he did not look good against Ortiz.

Well anytime Floyd or Manny face anyone other than each other, people will complain, and have a right to.

Other than Manny or Sergio, this is the best choice for Floyd. I never bought into the "hungry young lion" bull****. Cotto is a better fighter than the likes of Ortiz, Canelo, Khan, Berto, etc....I'm glad it's not Mayweather against the Ginger.
