Why are people giving Curtis Stevens a chance against Golovkin ?

I've seen a few of Stevens' fights and he's not bad, good puncher (dangerous left hook) and has an entertaining style to watch.

But watching Golovkin in his last few fights he's looking like a special fighter, I don't see Stevens lasting 4 rounds, he looks tailor made for Golovkin.

I've seen a few people on here actually tipping Stevens to beat Golovkin, based on what?

He does have a punchers chance and he believes in himself but Golovkin should stop him in 6

I just wanna see Golovkin take a big punch and see if he still comes forward as aggressively

You'll never have a matchup where every last person picks one guy. I'd say over 93% of posters on here are picking Golovkin. That's very high for a championship fight.

He got beat by Jesse Brinkley, whom Quillin destroyed in 3 rounds.

Is he really any better than the likes of Rosado, Macklin etc. ?

**** knows why their giving Stevens a chance:patsch Golovkin will win in first 6-9 rounds maximum.

This is boxing. Stranger things have happened, and bigger upsets, then Stevens landing a fight changing power punch on a usually hittable Golovkin.

Why someone would be favoring Stevens is a better question.

    This logic often fails.

Puncher's chance. Duck, come up with the left hook and hope for the best.

    Because he's fighting Golovkin....not a prime Hagler.

because he was a good amateur so he has a skill set, he has woefully underachieved as a pro, but the opportunity is still there for an upset.
Legit power, good counterpuncher, and his chin is decent (say nothing of the Primera fight). If nothing else Curtis is bringing a lot of torque on shots for at least 4 or 5 rounds.

What about "The Sweet Science" though? Hit and don't get hit and all that?

Probably because GGG has fought absolutely no one. And who cares if stevens lost to Brinkley. This is boxing. People have off nights. Look at the bums Toney lost to. That doesnt mean they were greater than him.

As you said, that left hook always gives him at least a puncher's chance. I don't see anything beyond.
