I am a big Crawford fan, I watch all his fights. I knew he would win against Spence (just not in such a dominant fashion). When Crawford was asked why he would beat Spence he said it's because he does everything better than Spence.

It was a great victory and he will win the rematch again. After that he can work on enhancing his legacy.

Seeing many posts and threads on here claiming that Crawford is now ahead of Mayweather is absolute madness. Crawford is one of the best fighters of this generation, comparable to the likes of Canelo Alvarez and Fury. History will remember him like that, a brilliant fighter of his day.

Mayweather is on a different level to Crawford - it's laughable to even compare. What Mayweather did in the boxing ring is insane, he had so many levels to his game. Boxing experts are still, to this day, analysing Mayweather's game so players can learn from him. The movement, anticipation, reading, speed, execution, footwork, counter punching, and so much more are things that Mayweather is well ahead of Crawford.

Mayweather is currently in the discussion of the greatest boxers of all time and deservedly so. Crawford will very unlikely be in that conversation by the time he is done, even though he is an amazing boxer. Different level.

Having that said, a theoretical fight between the two would be 'boring' in most people's eyes - like the Mayweather Pacquiao fight but when broken down, Mayweather's class can be seen. Mayweather Crawford would go the distance with Crawford winning a very small amount of rounds. But as is often said, in the art of being able to hit without getting hit - Mayweather is clear, it's not even close.

Not sure who would win, but Mayweather would not fight a prime Crawford.

    1) because people still hate Floyd all these years later
    2) Crawford just washed out his opponent in the biggest welter matchup in a long time, maybe the biggest boxing matchup period in a while.

Crawford would likely beat Mayweather, it is what it is. Mayweather had longer arms than all his welterweight opponents. The likes of Spence and Crawford are true welterweights unlike the people Mayweather fought, who mostly looked like blown up lightweights.

McGregor is roughly the same height and reach as Crawford, and it was jarring finally seeing Mayweather fight someone that had noticeable arm length and height advantage on him

Fury? Mother ****er please! Fury can't hold Spence's jock, let alone be in the same conversation as Crawford and Canelo.

Crawford hasn't had half the career Mayweather had. Mayweather just did more and his opponents did more themselves so we know more about their skill level.

Because they want to and if the people want to do something, and you don't put roadblocks in the way to prevent them from doing it, well most of them are going to go right ahead and do it and that's just how this game called life generally plays out.

Now does that make them right? Well what does ''right'' even mean? It's just opinions and each and everyone of the people have their own opinions and some will disagree with others and some will agree with others.

If you're interested in my opinion all I can say is that I'm not that egotistical and up my own ass to believe it's anymore important than anyone else's is even though my fan base will all be quick to tell you that I'm the best.

Just being objective, I think it's because we are all prisoners of the moment. I changed my pick to a controversial draw (at first I favored Spence by decision due to the disparity in size and strength). But regardless of Spence's circumstances, Crawford put on a masterful performance. Crawford deserves P4P status as of right now. But when it comes to Crawford and Mayweather, it is very interesting. I don't think Mayweather ever faced anyone as skilled as Crawford but I don't think Crawford ever faced someone as skilled as Floyd. I honestly don't know who would win. If people think Pernell was better than Floyd, it is not a stretch to believe Crawford to be right there since I always thought Crawford was superior to Pernell

It has to do with Mayweather hoodwinking the fans. Was Floyd great? Yes of course but he never fought another prime welterweight. Not since he fought at lightweight did he fight any fighters in their prime. Also he played weight games with his opponents like Canelo, Hatton and JMM. He ducked a lot of fighters to with his phony retirement. And this is coming from a Mayweather fan. Crawford although his resume is thin on big names has taken on every challenge put in front of him he is a 2 weight undisputed champion he has no questionable wins like Mayweather does and dominated the the guy in his division.

This can't be argued. An argument could be made that Spence is better than anyone Floyd as ever fought.

Another note is that Spence beat up Floyd in a sparring session. I know it is sparring but still something to think about.

The answer to the question in the title is Recency bias.

I think it’s because some people know what they are looking at. There aren’t a lot of things Floyd can do that Crawford can’t, he’s not as skilled as Floyd, but it’s not a wide gap, but he is far less powerful, that to me is the biggest difference, he’s a meaner, more powerful, Floyd. Not a carbon copy, they aren’t the same, but their ability to make adjustments and rise to the occasion on the biggest stage would make it an awesome fight. He’s not as “great” as Floyd because he doesn’t have the same opportunities Floyd had. I know what I’m watching and Crawford is an absolute problem for anybody.
