Why are people picking Bute over Froch?

I personally don't understand why people are picking Bute over Froch.

    The questions I ask are:

Is Froch the best opponent that Bute will have fought and the answer is yes.

Is Bute the best opponent that Froch will have fought and the answer is no.

Bute is basically untested where Froch isn't untested at the top level. I honestly think Froch will win this just through his experience of fighting top quality opponents.

I switched my mindon Bute after he completly shut out Glen Johnson. He controlled Johnson with the jab.

Just cause a fighter is "untested" doesn't mean he cant step up to the plate, he chose to come to England so he must be super confident of beating Froch in style.

Bute wins by UD for me

The most expirienced or the fighter with the best resume doesn't always win.

Bute also has a very good resume compared to other fighters, its just he is in a division where the top guys have incredible resumes due to the Super Six, especially Froch.

Kessler, Dirrell, Taylor. Theres an argument that Bute is better than those fighters.

I'm not saying he does always win but people seem to be jumping on the Bute bandwagon because of the Johnson performance. Bute and Johnson used to spar together and it looked like it was a glorified spar. It wasn't the normal johnson we were used to seeing.

Before bute had won the rematch with andrade I thought Froch would win, since then bute has improved quite a bit. Tough fight to call this one, it'll either be Froch to win by stoppage or bute on points. Saying that I wouldn't be surprised if it ends a draw.

    Because he's the better fighter?

You can boast all you want about having the better resume, but it won't mean much. I mean, weren't we saying the same thing when he was heading into the Ward fight? Yeah, a fat load of good his experience did him there.

Why not? He has the style to beat Froch.

    It's near 50/50 for me.

But I can see why people are picking Bute. He's "unbeaten" and is in pretty good form. Froch isn't really in form, has lost 2 of his last 4 fights (arguably 3 of 5) and has to some degree been exposed :)yep) at world level.

That said, I think with the fight being over here, Froch has far more chance than many are giving him. I think Bute will struggle with Carl's awkwardness and that could make it a tear-up, which I'd fancy Froch to come through in, due to the experience he has, general toughness and Bute's folding against Andrade the first time.

Froch by late stoppage. But that's probably just being hopeful.

Bute is huge and I think he will beat Froch convincingly. A lot of people seem to think Bute is overrated because he hasn't fought the standard of fighters that Froch has. This is true, but he has won his fights easily. I think Froch is on the decline anyway and Bute will win by UD.

I like Froch, but I can't see him winning this. Hopefully the public get behind him and the price on Bute lengthens :deal

Because Froch has been exposed 3 times against top fighters. His last fight was a little bit embarrassing too.

I'm really hoping this fight turns into a slugfest, for froch's sake.
