While I'm favouring Parker, I don't think Whyte is horribly over matched here, on paper it's a competitive fight. Whyte has a chance if he can pressure Parker and make Parker overly defensive which he is prone to do when he's being pushed back. He could simply out work a negative Parker unless Parker has somehow learned to counter punch on the back foot since his last fight. But if Parker can get off first and be the one to stand his ground or push Whyte back then I only see one winner and that's Parker.
As Cojanu showed, Kiwi Joe may have slowed, Or it could be a case of an off night, But if it repeats, Then it could spell defeat, When he gets in the ring with da boss Whyte!
It is more competitive than I at first believed. That's partly due to Whyte improving his technique in the last few fights, and Parker plateauing. I still think Parker should have enough to beat him in a fair fight, but it will very much depend on how quickly he can impose himself on Whyte. If he finds himself struggling then Whyte could start to nick close rounds and take it on the scorecards. Parker will need to be focussed and aggressive from the start, and show Whyte no mercy.
Close fight. Some say it will be boring, but I don't see Parker running to much and Whyte is at the top of his game and loves a scrap.. Not a fight I will bet on. If I was pushed i'd edge Parker by SD..
Parker went 12 rounds with Joshua...... And lost virtually every one because he couldn't land anything. Whyte hasn't looked exceptional.... But in every fight he's at least competitive.
I like a little conspiracy, I'm going to create one, here goes.. It's already been talked about that there is now a very good chance Whyte will fight Joshua in a rematch in April, a big domestic fight and a PPV that will do great numbers and no doubt it would also be on DAZN. Everybody wins if Whyte wins, Sky, Matchroom, Joshua, Whyte, DAZN.. even places like Wembley, they know it's another sell out. All Whyte has to do is make it slightly competitive and stay upright and he will get a decision, a draw at absolute worse. Then Wilder will be frozen out under the spin he didn't want it and wouldn't sign a "already signed contract" so then Hearn and Joshua will still have enough casuals to buy their PPV events. Then Whyte will get a title shot and big money in April, Sky, Hearn, AJ and DAZN have a big event and a warehouse full of money. Now let's all go and place wagers on Whyte Via Points.. please gamble responsibly.
Parker keeps on dropping down the ratings in the estimation of boxing fans. His last KO win was against Dimitrenko and people are now questioning whether he has power and how good is he really? Whyte is the most overrated HW on planet earth having lost to a shot Chisora and then ducked a rematch. I expect Parker to edge a UD in this one- and actually get the win on the scorecards.
looking at both and recent forms/fights I can see why many people are picking Whyte - he has looked better than Parker recently. I think its a genuine toss-up and really comes down to who want it more.
