Looking back over Whyte's recent record, it is interesting that people are picking him so confidently. The Lucas Browne performance is the main thing getting people going - that was a devastating KO, but Browne looked HORRIBLE. The argument is often that a great boxer can make a good boxer look bad... but that may or may not have been the case in that fight. Helenius is Browne's other recent "good" win, however I just had a nosy to see how he's getting on at the moment - and he JUST edged a split decision against the mighty Yury Bykhautsou (10W 16L 3D) and has a highly anticipated rematch scheduled to settle the score properly: http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/451505
While I think Whyte showed improved movement and counter punching vs Browne that fight does flatter Whyte a lot, Browne was a dead man walking and looked shot, last time we saw a heavyweight at this level look so bad was Stiverne getting KO'ed in 1 by Wilder. He was horribly slow vs Whyte and couldn't get anything going. Parker will provide a very, very different challenge, much, much faster for a start and much more elusive.
It has long been prophesied that at Ragnarok, the end of the world, the fire giant Surt will cover the early in flames. Alas! Freyr his mortal enemy will be unable to stop him having given his magic sword to Skirnir in pursuit of the love of The fair maiden Geor When the flames recede there will be no more war or conflict, save for 3 humans who alone will carry forget the bitter enmities of a past world into the future. A kiwi, Aussie and man from Wigan they be and their eternal conflict over the source of the greatest pies in all of creation shall never end.
It’s the UK did you see that Takam stoppage. Whyte just needs to show up and not get knocked out if it goes to the cards he will win. PS he didn’t be Chisora
Whyte has improved and Parker hasn't looked good the last few fights.. Parker's issue is he can't really chase and land bombs.. He needs the opponent to be walking him down or at least staying in front of him.. Both AJ and Fury fought this way for a reason.. Whyte was disciplined v Browne because he knew Brown's power and kept to the game plan... Whyte I think is at the stage where Tyson Fury was and the penny has dropped that fight discipline is the key to success not just raw talent. Detractors don't factor in these changes when analysing the fighter "Man Cunningham nearly ko'd Fury he is not good", well Fury doesn't fight like that (or didn't up to the Wlad fight) anymore so it probably wouldn't happen.. So to stop rambling Whyte has shown some real improvement in both his fitness level and discipline in the ring which make him winning seem more plausible. FYI I think Parker will be too quick and skilled for him and won't a. get cuts b. come in out of shape c. will be far better prepared than Browne..
