Why are people screaming for Pavlik V Calzaghe, and not Dawson V Calzaghe?

is this fact? if so its probably true, glens a ****ing animal man he aint scared of no one, he would go and fight boxers in there living rooms for a phew dollars

 

2005 or 2006, they were looking to fight and Glen Johnson said something about Calzaghe not giving him anywhere near enough time to get down to 168 - it was about 10 or so weeks before the fight would have taken place.

Personally I think Glen has every right to say he feels ducked by Joe, based on the fact that their first fight was never rescheduled - but Glenn did go on to take some extra losses in that time frame and became a less viable opponent (due to him being one weight above)

 

Honestly though, Calzaghe beat Sheika, who beat Johnson. I know, styles make fights, but still, he beat the guy who beat Johnson.

Well that's the thing about Calzaghe.. in his own division, there is only one fighter of repute that you can't trace a line too to say "Calzaghe either beat him or beat a fighter that beat him" and that's Sven Ottke.

And Calzaghe beat several of the guys people say Ottke got robberies against.

Pavlik, the most he could do to Calzaghe is like Kesley.
Dawson, you can't win the best slick boxer just to be slick.

Because of hype and popularity. To most fans that's how they take boxing, just watch how DLH/Pacquiao makes insane PPV buys. It's just a popularity contest these days.

I admit that Dawson is a more dangerous opponent but since a lot of hype is surrounding Pavlik then he's the better opponent in general right now.

Yeah, but the racism thing doesn't make sense, because they're both white. Against Taylor, it made sense (sick racist sense, but sense nonetheless). Where's the white supremacist angle when both guys are white? I think it's because Pavlik has blown the doors off the MW division. Dawson is talented, but hasn't dusted the champ or top contenders in a really spectacular and devastating fashion. Hell, most of the people here think he lost to Johnson (I don't. I think he won the fight in the final round. but that's just my opinion).
