Why are people screaming for Pavlik V Calzaghe, and not Dawson V Calzaghe?

So has Dawson, anyway it would be a good fight, good match-up and Dawson makes mistakes when pressure is on him like he did in some fights.Mr.Tarver can't bring pressure at all=bad match-up:deal

There is a thread based on an article where Joe is quoted saying it would take the crown jewels to get him to fight RJJ. Joe is revising history and you are believing him. :-(

No-one's revising anything. I believe Calzaghe and Jones could have been made back then, but neither were interested to enough of an extent to get it done. Both men have been quite honest about that, actually.

The same probably applies to Pavlik/Calzaghe now. Calzaghe mentioned Pavlik's name, but he usually mentioned Jones as well at the same time when talking about potential fights. Ultimately he decided on Jones first. Pavlik mentioned Calzaghe's name, but didn't particularly agitate for a fight, no offers were put on the table, he wasn't at the Calzaghe/Hopkins fight, his promoter has still been mentioning middleweight defences against Abraham, and even the likes of Lorenzo or Rubio.

The way both have been talking however, convinces me more that the fight will be made for next year.

Don't say Dawson is overhyped guys.

The user 'Axe's entire online presence on ESB was build up around Adamek. After Dawson beat Adamek, Axe has adopted Dawson.

Axe believes that Dawson would beat anyone from 160-175 easily.

IfAxe ever sees what you guys are writing he will cry.... poor little Axe....

You mean Arum took a limo ride from the airport with Frank Warren, whose contract to promote Calzaghe had already expired?

Not sure who Arum was negotiating with then as Calzaghe promotes himself now.

First you make a statement that Calzaghe has been calling Jones out for years in spite of the statment Cal himself made, and has been posted to this forum MANY times where Cal says it would take the "crown jewels" to get him to fight Jones. Now you try and claim no offer was made when it is pretty obvious that serious negotiations had begun. This stuff is 'on the record. Believe what you want.

I agree. It would be an interesting match up - but I can't help but think that Joe is done now - which is perhaps fair enough.
