Danny is one of the most underrated fighters in boxing. I am a big Mathysse fan, but I can see Garcia stopping him. Swift can punch, and he can take a punch. Lucas can take a punch, too, so I see a great fight. This fight will no doubt steal the show. Nobody talks about the great work that Danny was putting in on Zab. He showed some good boxer-puncher skills.

I love Mathysse, but I could definately see Danny pulling of an upset. I consider him the #2 LWW right now, and he is no walk in the park.

 

I think Garcia has a good chance of winning

I have been studying Matthysse's and Garcia's fights on my DVR and I just can't see Garcia beating Matthysse.

Matthysse's defense is much better. An old over-the-hill Morales landed lots of rights, jabs, hooks on Garcia, yet Morales was a finished fighter at a higher weight than he should have been. It was a fight that should never have happened. Morales has taken way too many punches in his career. He was nothing like the old Morales of years ago.

Matthysse hits much harder, shorter punches, more solid all around, plus much stronger. He is quicker, but his timing is really much better, by far.

Matthysse's stamina is, by far, better than Garcia's. I've seen him throw punches non-stop for 10 full rounds, getting the knockout at the end of the 10th, yet he was not even breathing hard!!! Garcia showed really bad stamina in the Judah fight, in the late rounds.

Back to Matthysse's defense.............I've noticed that he does not get hit much, he has a very underrated defense and is a very underrated boxer. If Matthysse lands the same punches on Garcia that an old Morales did, it will be lights out. If Matthysse lands the same punches that Judah or Khan landed on Garcia he will be out. However, whenever I have seen Matthysse get hit, as all boxers do at times, the punch did not bother him.

Some saying that Garcia is a world champion, therefore unbeatable, well, what about Peterson, he is the IBF world champion and Matthysse easily knocked him out in the third. If Peterson's IBF title had been on the line, Matthysse would be a world champion now!!! And for the home cooking in Alexander's home town, not to mention Judah's, well..............Matthysse is really undefeated.............and a world champion............

He probably will have a defensive lapse or two and Danny's exactly the kind of fighter to exploit those sorts of mistakes. The problem is that Garcia's more of a "stand your ground" sort of counter puncher so he'll probably have to take some heavy artillery to do so.

 

Well, judging by how Danny had a difficult time with Morales the first time, and having problems with Judah, it's easier to make a case with Lucas running a roughshod over him.

His father certainly didn't help with the perception.

A lot of people pick against someone over hate, not logic.

 

Well, because Danny will be asleep come Saturday night.

 

Garcia is the only one who's gonna be sleeping.

And for those talking about Lucas low right hand when throwing his left hook and overrated defense, if you look carefully Lucas always starts his fights cautiously, he gets wild and open when he feels that his oponent can't hurt him.

Lucas is going to be a cold cerebral Stalker against Garcia, imposing his jab and straight right hands, he wont get wild. Garcia will try to time Lucas and counter effectivly. For me the firsts rounds are going to be much more tactical than many expects, of course that at some point it could get wild, maybe because Lucas starts feeling comfortable or because Gracia starts feeling the urgency of a ko. Either way Matthysse got the better chances in this one. Stop saying that is a 50/50 fight cause is not, Matthysse is a more skillful fighter, thats a fact. His defense is tighter, better footwork and power. Of course Garcia has the puncher chance, he can allways land a big hand like in the Khan fight, but thats all he is going to bring saturday night.

Lucas lost to Judah....Danny did much better vs Judah than Lucas did. AT most Judah won 4 rounds vs Danny

Lucas was also trouble by Alexander and other than that he hasn't fought anyone of note other than Peterson who he did destroy but who is Khan's equal and Garcia destroyed Khan so the Peterson win doesn't give Matthysse any ranking above Garcia.
