Its an excuse not to give a worthy fighter a fair share of the pot and ducking them. It's all there is to it.
I don't really understand it. Some people take so much pleasure in their favourite fighters' PPV numbers and purses, you'd think they were getting a cut of it.
I don't think most people are. But, it is quite a feat to have millions of people pay to see fighters‘ skills on display in a sport that people say is dead or dying. In a way it makes you proud to be a boxing fan. With that said it's even better to see big fights starting to be shown on "regular cable" channels like ESPN and NBC Sports. I hope that trend continues. It makes the sport more accessible. I hope the success of PPV starts to influence networks of the "free" channels to start looking at boxing (at least the big fights) as a viable revenue stream again.
Because Boxing is "dead" and there arent big fights happening because today's top fighters are a bit scared to fight real competition, so they pull all kinds of weight-draining, different gloves, etc. clauses. And promoters Oscar, Arum are fvcking up boxing with shitty fights, and fake performances, and PED cover-ups. For example, Oscar & Arum helped Mosley get away with using epo/hormones against Margarito, then they fooled the fans into buying Mayweather-Mosley that turned out to be lackluster, cause Mosley could not use his epo against floyd, as he did against Margarito. So there isnt much happening in boxing cause the cheaters cant continue cheating, so the talk of the town is PPV numbers, purses, etc.,,, because nothing big is happening in boxing. Boxing has "shot itself in the foot" by building up PEDs users Mosley, Hops, etc. and putting honest good fighters like Margarito out of business, for example having Margarito "take a dive" against Pacquiao, Canelo too against Floyd, etc.
