Why are people still saying that JMM's punch in r6 would have knocked out anyone?

It's still mind boggling that people actually believe "that punch would have KO'd anybody" despite no evidence, nothing, nada.

Iron chins don't get knocked out asleep for 5 minutes, there are plenty of fighters who don't get knocked out in as brutal a fashion as that.

Seriously, people's favourite fighters on this site have chin problems and then they act like somehow it's our fault :////

    Or more like medical fact.

You think there are people that could take a sledge hammer to the dome and still be conscious?

it was a perfect punch, just like pac did to hatton, pac took the best shot from cotto and margarito bigger and stronger than jmm. everyone entitle to his own opinion.

Indeed, there are several men who could do that, several iron jawed individuals.

There's no basis to suggest that that shot would have ko'd any man. Please show me scientific evidence to back your ridiculous claim.

Put it in perspective, the video says a 10lb sledgehammer travelling at 8mph.

Not at full force as a poster said here. A big difference.

Anybody dumb enough to jump onto it like that may well have been knocked out by it.

No, that punch wouldn't have KOed anyone. It KOed Pacquiao. An Iron Chinned fighter would have ate that shot like nothing.

We have too many people on here that know nothing about Chins.

Margarito was not a power puncher he was an accumulation type puncher. Pacquiao taking his punches means nothing.

lol. pac is a natural light welter who fought cotto and margarito who out weighed him a lot. pac suffered from their punches especially with margarito hence they said they will avoid fighting anymore at that weight and even it was at catch weight. yup, like you know everything about boxing including the pains the fighters feel each fight.hehehe

You saw Floyd shook up by Maidana perfectly countering the pull counter in round 3, Mayweather has a solid chin and if that had happened thirty seconds earlier he'd find himself being battered to the canvas, a perfectly timed shot hurts 95% of fighters, iron chins are a rare breed. Now imagine if Floyd was lunging the hell in toward the punch and had his foot stepped on to add insult to injury, he's going down. I don't care if you're Provodnikov, Marquez's perfect right hand would have put ANYONE down.

I don't care when that shot would have happened, May would have fought right through it and not gone down.

Iron chinned fighters simply don't get knocked out, ala George Chuvalo, Vitali, Mayweather, Provodnikov, Hagler.

I don't care if they were hit with sledgehammers. They are still NOT going down.

Wouldn't you class Froch as having an iron chin despite suffering knockdowns? How would you classify his chin? Look at Groves 1, squares up and walks straight into it then Groves hits him with everything including the kitchen sink and ripped up the damn pipes and launched them at him yet never went on the floor again.

He has an iron chin but it's not pure granite.

Guys like Hagler, Chuvalo, Mayweather, Vitali. They just don't go down.

As a chin expert I would still say Froch's chin is iron, or close to iron. He has a terrible defence and eats big shots flush time and time again in pretty much every single fight and has never been KO'd or been close to being KO'd. In fact the 2 fights he got knocked down in he came back and won.

Pac was KO'd and asleep for about 5 minutes, that never happened to Froch and never happened to other fighters who also had iron jaws.
