Why are people underestimating the defence of Kronk Fury?

Kronk Fury's subtle efficient footwork against Wilder, always holding a perfect amount of distance utilizing his reach was perfection. Wilder couldn't believe he was getting hit with hooks from such range and the strength of his new jab.

So why are people saying that as soon as Fury pressures AJ he will have his head taken off? I have never seen AJ take anybody's head off. Kubrat Pulev a small midget from Bulgaria was winning the clinch against Joshua. Pulev was also leaning at Joshua at times ffs. And like the other poster said, AJs power is overrated. All of AJs fights since 2017 have gone at least 7 rounds and most of his "KOs" have been ref stopping the fight while his opponents are still on their feet.

It's a shame that people are writing off Kronk Fury immediately... Fury has a better chin, better recovery, and more heart than all of AJs opponents. If AJ somehow drops Fury (won't happen), Fury always gets up and fights back. Fury knows when to clinch if his opponents get too explosive.

You know what. I would LOVE to see Fury try the agressive Kronk Style on Joshua. The fight would be an absolute war for 2 rounds before Fury gets folded like an omlet.

Lets be real here. Joshua is far better in the pocket and if Fury tried to move forward against him he'd have quick counters, hooks and uppercuts coming his way instead of 1 right hand every now and then.

You want Fury to beat Joshua right ? Convince him Aj is more dangerous than Klitschko and tell him to go back to his usual outboxing style and loose 20 pounds so he can be light on his feet and box Aj at range. Honestly if you people keep telling him Ajs an easy nights work Fury might actually start to think that and get complacent

Agree. Joshua is the wrong guy for Fury to go to war with. AJ has nice and compact combinations and throws them fluidly. Add to the fact that he's a very solid hitter, and that his form is way better than Wilder's. On the other hand Fury boxing from the outside, quick and agile and looking for the counter is a hard task for a guy like Joshua to deal with. That Fury can hit hard if he sits down on his punches I don't doubt, but TF needs to pick the right time to go to war. Such as after he catches AJ with a counter-punch. If he runs in flailing like a spaz then Joshua is likely to turn him into the contents of a steak and kidney pie.

he still has good defense, but to me his defense was noticeably worse than it was in the Wilder 1 and Schwarz fights

i think my moving less and trading more he gives his opponents more of a chance to land rather than by using his legs and fighting on the outside.

does that mean his more stationary style means he has bad defense, no, does it mean he will likely get hit more, yes

I don’t see Fury bulldozing forward in this fight. I reckon people have let the Wilder fight cloud their judgement of what Fury’s natural game is. You can watch Wilder against far lesser opponents, and you’ll see how easy he is to push back. I’d go as far to say that he willingly gives up real estate.

Of course a lot also has to do with what team Joshua has planned. Personally I think he needs to push forward aggressively, targeting the body in volume. Joshua is going to be the shorter fighter, so he needs to fight like it.

The difference between Wilder vs Fury 2 and most of Wilder fights is that Wilder was actually trying to hold his ground in the first 3 rounds. He was trying to be the aggressor win the battle of the jab ands control the distance. He didn't look bad doing it either, just not as good as Fury. I kept hearing people say that Wilder looked off in that fight but I thought he was boxing better than he usually does in the first couple rounds, just against a guy who was better.

Keeping distance is one thing put you're also referring to him pressuring Aj with a Jab. It would just be better for Fury to get on the backpedel and only get try and pressure when he starts to see Ajs gas tank run out

At some point in the fight Fury will have to push forward and put the pressure on AJ.

I really don't see Fury's position changing much from the Wilder fights, he will have to KO Joshua to win. I don't think a close decision will be handed to Fury. He will have to completely dominate to win on the cards.

How does the defense of Kronk Fury stack up to the defense of Tae Bo Toney?

That's just Fury's new nickname by his fans. We all know Fury isn't Thomas Hearns

Kronk Fury couldn't even pressure Wallin. He just ran out of gas and got rocked in 12th.
