So - B-hop wins this with his lead right hand and by clinching and roughing Joe up?

Yeah ... its not all about speed and in and out movments ... these guys are way past that level where one persons physical attributes will carry them to victory.

B-Hop has fought fast fighters before ... He's fought physically stronger fighters than him ...

Calzaghe has been head and shoulders above his competition throughout his career. He's never seen a fighter like Bernard Hopkins live and in person. Never even in sparring ... he's never faced a defensive minded fighter, combined with percision punching and anything it takes attitude.

I don't know who will win but a person has to be ******ed not to see this is the gameplan. Maybe for both guys which makes it even worse for us.

Well - It must be B-hops gameplan - but in my book thats just not good enough. B-hops lead right may hit Joe flush a couple of times but that wont mean **** if Joe as expected hit Bernard twice as much through 12 hard rounds.

Twice as much would mean Hopkins isn't holding on. Which you know is not going to happen. There is a good reason why GBP has this fight happening in the states. And Cortez has already proved he will not go against a US fighter.

Besides just on a purely technical level? Hopkins is better than Calzaghe. His judgement of distance and how to step back and step into a right hand makes him just better in that regard. Joe's physical advantages will be moot and really his best chance to win this is to fight fire with fire.

Well - I dont agree at all. Joe should just throw the punches he normally does, beware of the lead right and get of of the clinching. By doing so he will dominate Hopkins.

Why isnt this possible and the most likely result?

Easier said than done. People just assume it's easy to avoid the clinch. In reality it isn't.

Because everyone knows that its only b-hops strengths that will matter in the fight. Calzaghe is so stupid he will just fall into B-hops traps and forget how to fight. Calzaghe is so green its unreal. Yada yada b-hops rules, he beat trinidad a geniune cruiserweight...... Joe beat nobody, home fighter, cant box, slaps, no power. yawn :dead

Not just the speed and workrate....

The jab, the in/out movement, the accurate odd angles shots, the body punching, the endless stamina, the chin.

I mean... come on. Prime for prime this still goes to Calzaghe.

Not to mention, but Calzaghe's looked even better in sparring than in any recent time.

I have Joe winning by TKO in 9 as my pick. I think Hops will get himself disqualified.

The Hopkins crew seem to have convinced everybody around here otherwise, and while Hopkins looks in his best shape in a while, no doubt there, the fact remains that we're dealing with Joe ****ing Calzaghe here....

Calzaghe fans have no reason to feel otherwise that Hopkins won't get dominated at this point.
