Can't hate on Al for bringing boxing back to network TV.

I just hope they're aren't too many mismatches.

Gaymon fighters. So expect that to be the case, along with lots of contentious decisions.

It's time to stop resisting. I Have to admit it's over. Haymon and his allies have won. Time will tell if they convince enough casual fans to flock back to the sport in masses.

I guess for me I'll watch Mayweather/Pac if it happens, and continue to follow Matthysse, GGG, Kovalev, Crawford, and some of my other faves. I've officially given up and maybe in five years I'll come back and admit that Haymon was indeed the Jesus Christ of boxing.

I just refuse to take part in an enterprise where kid Chocolate is THE Heavyweight Champion and Leo Santa Cruz is THE Super Bantamweight Champion. Good for Al for suckling at the teat of HBO for years and using Schafer to take advantage of a drug addled Oscar De La Hoya. I guess he had it coming, but as they say in boxing "protect yourselves at all times" or a guy like Floyd will KO Ortiz.

As someone who was top of my class in Economics:yep (I know I sound obnoxious) its hard for me to separate my personal political beliefs from the boxing business and how it works.
I know that's how Capitalism works, we're all attempting to make a buck anyway we can and line our pockets with as much money as possible. But I can't help the disdain that I feel for people who make their living in a business where the primary source of income is the exploitation of human beings and dollar value they place on one earners pain from another's, and how quickly they are discarded to turn into drug addicted bums who've lost all of their money in bad investments to other blood suckers and have to fight in bingo halls and get their brains bashed in by nobodies so they can afford to put their children through school, it saddens me that there isn't a far better safety net for Boxer to fall into after they have retired. And that won't change under Al.

And Haymon while he's making them money now, the way his business model is set up it will spread the profit very thin, the sheer number of cards that will be put on will sooner or later become redundant to the public who will tire due to the oversaturation of sub standard matches, and will tune out in droves once they realize that the match quality will not improve or just lose interest naturally because Americans have an incredibly short attention span, so the profits will wane and Haymon will take the lion's share of the money, they'll scale back the programming, the undercard guys will be pushed out and eventually only the biggest players will be getting paid that is of course until they lose and cease to be a cash cow, and then they will be pushed aside as well to make room for the next big thing, while Haymon sits atop a crumbling Empire with loads of money in Swiss Banks accounts smiling like a Cheshire Cat. I find the underbelly of the business while necessary hard to stomach. They are making money off of pain and suffering so all promoters are sleaze to me.
