    ****ed up doesn't quite do it justice :-( Boxrec rankings are a complete joke.

    My view is that Hatton proves to be way too strong for Pac, and wins with embarrassing ease....its not a view that is popular, but you can take it to the bank :good (I have my doubts as to whether this fight will actually take place)

    I think it's hilarious, never even fought at the weight !!

    I agree with TFFP too, to a point.

    Either Pacquiao busts Hatton up - or Hatton overpowers him. I don't see this being a backwards and forwards affair. I think one guy will dominate, even though it will take until the later rounds for them to end it.

    I'm with the consensus on being unable to pick a winner. But here I go;

    Strengths:

    Pacquiao;

    Great performance against a shot De La Hoya. But his movement should be just as quick against Hatton. He showed great hand speed and even better footwork. This should be enough to dance around the jabbing Hatton that turned up against Malignaggi. The thing that impressed me most was Pacquiao's ability to throw combinations whilst moving. Hatton generally plants his feet but Pacquiao was in and out landing and moving all the time.

    The Pacquiao against Diaz showed he could take his power up to 135lbs. He rarely looked in trouble. Different performance to the one against De La Hoya and more reminiscent of how Pacquiao generally fights. Quick combinations but never really taking a backward step.

    Hatton;

    Much improved against Malignaggi. Head movement and leading from the jab. Not alot of work inside but rarely had to get on the inside anyway. The Lazcano win was laboured but given it was on the back of a defeat it was job done.

    Typical Hatton should be able to overpower Pacquiao on the inside, provided the Hitman can keep Manny there long enough. Has enough KO power to put Manny on the floor if he catches him.

    Weaknesses:]

    Pacquiao;

    No one has mentioned this from what I've seen so far, but Manny has been KO'd twice (I know one was questionable - rumours of match fixing in the Philipenes). I know he went down against Barrera too, but not sure if he's been down since? Also, remember the state of Manny's face after the second Marquez fight? Hatton hits harder than JMM so cuts could be an issue.

    At 140lbs Pacquiao will be above his comfortable weight and fighting against the best LWW in the business. While strength is not necessarily a weakness of Pac's, against Hatton it will be.

    Hatton;

    Cuts is the obvious flaw. A busy Pacquiao could open up Hatton's face quite badly. Hatton is quick and has good footwork, but as per Pacquiao's strength compared to Hatton, Hatton will be the slower boxer when the two meet. If Pacquiao can beat him to the punch then this could be a problem for Hatton.

    Secondly, against Mayweather and Lazcano, Hatton took alot of punches in an attempt to get on the inside. Taking these against Pacquiao could cost him a decision, as Pac wont be taking as many in return.

    Stlyes:

    This is where it gets hazy for me. Hatton's only defeat has come to a counter puncher of immense quality. Pacquiao's closest fight of recent years has come against a counter puncher of immense quality. Neither Hatton, or Pacquiao are counter punchers. This will be a war where neither boxer takes a step back. I fully expect a lot of close rounds and both boxers taking the hardest digs their opponent can throw.

    Result:

    My prediction prior to Pac v ODLH was that De La Hoya would be too big for Pacquiao. While I was forced to eat humble pie on that one, I'm saying the same for this. Hatton will be too strong for Pacquiao. Pac will be facing a world class operator who is near to his peak. Hatton's punches will do more damage than Marquez, Barrera or Diaz could do to Pac. Pac will not punch as hard as Mayweather, Tszyu or Collazo. Hatton will be caught, but he will manage to slow Pacquiao down and do some damage on the inside.

    Hatton win on points

    C'mon.Most of us thought that Hatton would have least been able to take Manny into the later rounds. :D
