Well, I'd certainly like to here why he feels that the current year as any relovance to why styles in certain regions have no bearing on why some fighters get hit more than others. I would like to think that its a theory which holds more water than the assumption that fighters who were born in Great Britain naturally have weaker bone structures, especially given that many of the ones on the list seem to be of African decent.

Agreed, but most of the fighters on the original list of this thread began their amatuer and pro careers, in the 1970's and 1980's. If we look at clips of Herbie Hide, Frank Bruno and Lennox Lewis ( pre steward ), we can see that they're stance is very upright and the lack of movement up top. To me, this has great significance in terms of fighters being more prone to getting hit. Even some of today's russian fighters tend to show many of these traits. Wlad also had some of these problems before working with Steward.

My point, is that we shouldn't automatically assume that anyone born in England or in other parts of Europe, have inherantly weak chins.

Yup! I think the evolvement of training methods and styles of fighters is quite facsinating. You look at the euro heavy weight champs like Vlad and Maskaev and they strike me as very old fashioned. Will eastern euros boxers still fight like that in twenty years? Or will newly learned training methods mean that they show more upper body movement!

Or will they take the next evolutionary step of the American heavies and develop into overweight cokeheads?

Wlad has improved greatly in terms of his defense and utilization of the ring. Several years ago, his style made him a very easy target, particularly for south paws. I think styles have a lot to do with why certain fighters have suffered KO losses.

Its amazing how ppl asume getting KO'd by McCall and Rahman makes Lewis chinny, considering those punches would KO anyone. Lewis was not chinny at all, he just got caught flush and did wat anyone else would have did, laid the **** down

    Typical Cockney. Dumb.

The only true chinless wonder in that list is probably Herbie hide, and he was a cruiser fight heavyweights... Macca is a bit chinny aswel to be fair.

You seem to forget that the BEST heavyweights of all time were NEVER KO`ed by 1 punch. Both times Lewis was KO`ed the KO`s were devastating. Even Bruno had his cage rattled for some time when they fought. LL wasnt chinny but he didnt have a Tysonesque chin at all.

Lennox Lewis has been knocked down twice in a career of fighting the best of a great heavyweight era.. chinless? LOL.

David Haye? Why? He was exhausted against Carl Thompson so that happens. What else are you basing this on? His KD versus Mormeck? He slipped into the corner and dropped his hands, and with the shots Mormeck landed, almost anyone would have gone down.

I thought I would get more of a thrashing for this thread- of course its a bit tongue in cheek

Amir Khan will get KOd within 5 fights
Haye- I hope I am wrong

I stick by Hamed having a good chin- he was never close to getting KOd
Benn is one of my favorite boxers due to his unique talent of Ko-ing people when out on his feet
And sorry, Bruno was no McCall..

I meant Herol Graham instead of J Nelson (always mix them up) tho was he ever a champ? Also Kirkland Laing, another nearly man, famous for his stomp, great fighter but let down by glass jaw
