Neither fighter has massive one punch power or incredible KO ratios. Though both have good %. Calzaghe has an excellent chin. There is nothing to suggest Kessler's is shaky. Both are hard to hit flush. Neither has any particular size and strength advantage. Both are undefeated and obviously have never been knocked out and have never been close to being knocked out. So I don't understand where these KO predictions are materialising, especially from the Kessler betters.
If you can't find any basis for the fact that Mikkel can bang so it hurts then read this little qoute from Beyer. You could also read up on other of his previous opponents memory in that department. If you look at the siaca fight its fair to wonder why he gave up, unless you assume he was really hurt by punches that looked average. I think Joe will be just as surprised by Kesslers power as Beyer was.
I never said Kessler couldnt bang. Im saying he's not some 1 punch ko master. And JC has been in with big punchers before so I doubt Kessler is going to hit him with anything harder than he's been hit with before.
All signs point toward a closely contested 12 rounder. All these KO predictions are based on over excitement and improper analysis of the fight I believe.
i think it might be because a lot of us expect a war, and if that is what happens saturday night then it is very likely to end with a ko or tko.
Ok, that I can respect. If both fighters go at it toe-to-toe then a ko ending is certainly possible, however I expect after both fighers get a taste of it from the other something far more tactical will proceed.
Logical deduction based on statistic info seems to back the chances for a ko, a tko or rsc up pretty well. However Kessler has the most clean knockouts. He usually never goes for the Ko though. Just effective destruction, grinding the opponent to give up.
You seem to be basing your logic on kessler's own attributes without taking into account how they offset against Calzaghe's.
because they are both quality operators. who have plenty of stoppages on their record. how i can envision both fighters ko's: joe goes wild and kessler gets tagged by a couple good ones, and he continues to get tagged while backing up, trying to defend himself. and worryingly for me, the ref might stop it early, which is not out of the question when it comes to some of joe's suspect stoppages. but more likely if there is a ko it will be from kessler. i can see kessler tagging joe a couple of times and then using ring movement to **** joe right off. rememeber joe is an emotional fighter so the crowd might push him into doing something stupid like fighting with his hands down by his sides or throwing wide hooks. if one of these scenarios happen, and it doesn't faze kessler, i see the dane who has great sense of distance, stepping inside those bombs with a hard 1-2, or hooks of his own. if it stuns joe i expect kessler to throw a few more combos quickly, hoping to end it. joe goes down, but when he gets up he decides to try and go crazy like he did verses mitchell. only the problem will be kessler will know what to expect, and will move and avoid action until joe makes another mistake. joe will get dropped or staggered badly. once he is hurt this time, kessler will knock him down harder. either joe will get up and it'll be a barrage of unanswered shots, or the ref calls off the bout. but i cannot see joe not able to beat the count. his chin is pretty good. is a ko is gonna happen it is mosst likely from kessler. but of course when you put two men in the ring anything under the sun can happen :good
Honestly I would've bet on the UD but the odds are simply too shitty. I bet on a KO/TKO in the last 3 rounds for Calz and the last 4 for Kess. If I win I make about 100$ and if I lose, I lose 21$ I know its unlikely but 21$ is no big deal.
I think the Ko is more than likely as Kessler does not feel safe letting the judges decide the outcome. He has the tools and the power to end the show early. Anyway Joe's style is perfect for Kessler. Wait and see. By the way. The Beyer qoute: Kessler is surely the psysically strongest fighter I have ever boxed. The power in his right hand is brutal. You can also see what ODH take on this is. Summarized. He is in awe at the fact that Kessler were able to just push Andrade away at will, knowing the unnaturral strength of Andrade. Andrade concurs and and says that Kesslers fotwork is more than outstanding. Mundine says he is as fast as Mundine himself. Coming from Mundine it really means something.
