Rematches ensue if the initial fight was anywhere close to being competitive and exciting. Jones was sparked out immediately and is shot to pieces.

    No need for a rematch.

  2. Who is calling for this?

    Either:

    1) They want to see RJJ hurt again

    2) They think the loss was a fluke and want to see him redeem himself.

Look in nearly every thread regarding the fight. You'll get a handful of people saying, "Jones should have a rematch and retire. He can't go out like that". Otherwise will be in-denial and say, "Rabbit punch. Bull****. Rematch".

Patterson got a re-match from Liston after being KO'ed in the first round of their first fight. Unfortunately for Patterson, he ends up being KO'ed, yet again, in the first round.

The only ones calling for it are the same who thought RJJ was prime material against Lacy. To be direct, Calzaghe fans.

Can you blame them?, no. An ancient RJJ is the biggest name on his record so desperation can't be controlled even though the facts are extremely easy to see.

RJJ his self admits retirement is the #1 option at this point. Those who want him to continue are NOT real fans of Jones. I'm a huge fan of Jones and have been hoping to see him retire immediately after the Ruiz fight or the first Tarver fight, whoever wants him to stay wants to see him give guys he would have easily destroyed in his prime, yes Calzaghe included, a free popularity boost.

He already **** on his accomplishments enough allowing guys like Tarver, Calzaghe, Johnson and Green to beat him. We all know the likes of Calzaghe and Johnson couldn't even reach him in his prime, that included Tarver who's first attempt saw him fall short against Harding, yes the same Harding that fought Jones immediately after for securing the #1 spot. At the time James "the buffet king" Toney was idling in Burger king out of jealousy claiming Jones was fighting the guys serving his large stomach in the same Burger king branch he camped when in reality he was struggling and losing to them.

Looks like I typed **** on enough fighters here, yeah it's not related to topic 100%, screw it.

Green was always going to be a big risk for Jones at the end of his career.

I started a thread a while back asking if Jones was capable of beating Green as i was concerned one big shot would be night night RJJ and i was unfortunately right.

I love Roy but i really wish he'd retired after the Ruiz fight and we would truly be calling him the GOAT

Oh hang on we would have dissected his resume then and named fighters he avoided!:yep
