Why are some people fans of Canelo?

Despite becoming the cash cow diva, he still puts in good, entertaining, bouts for the most part. Plus he puts combos together very well, has a good punch, and seems to never stop trying to win.

 

Throughout the earlier stages of his career, I was because I felt he took on some serious comp. Not anymore.

 

175 has Gvozdyk, Beterbiev and Bivol in it. Old GGG sounds good compared to those 3.

 

First and foremost, He takes challenges.
He is clearly dedicated to his craft.
He wants to make history.

 

Lets compare Canelo to Errol Spence, shall we? The are both 29 years old.

ESJ, an american olympian, unified champ at welter. Has a claim to the best at welter with exception of Crawford who is on the other side of the street. What does he do? He gets smashed, drives 100 mph and wrecks his ferrari not wearing his seatbelt. Miraculously survives. However, word on the street is that he has faced significant injuries which may affect his ability to ever box again.

Canelo Alvarez has kept his nose clean. Been in the spotlight since losing to Floyd. Signed the biggest deal in boxing. Continues to train hard, stay in shape, you dont see him drunk at press conferences. He has loads more money than Spence yet stays disciplined in his craft.

ESJ let his family down, himself down, and his fans by acting like a damn fool.
Canelo on the other hand continues to work towards his fame and glory. Yes he gets the A side advantages, accept it or hate it, wont change nothing!
