Why are the higher weight divisions more populated with Eastern Euros at the top?

Even when the Soviet Union was around, that never happened. The only place where they forced people to dope was East Germany. Many East German athletes ended up suing the companies responsible for making the drugs, since it left them physically impaired later on in life. You are pulling things out of your rectum, and considering them facts.

    1) The Soviet Union no longer exists. Even when it did exist, they never FORCED their athletes to take drugs, or experiment on them. It was entirely their option and that of their coaches how they wanted to compete and train.
    2) Eastern Europe is just like any other place on earth, people are not experimented on. Kids grow up following a sport, and competing in it. It really is no different to any other place. You are an ignorant ****stain, you know nothing about the region :deal

Next thing you know, he will say Eastern European boxers have bionic hands, which explains why they are heavy handed. Also He will say their jaws have been replaced with steel mandibles, which explains their resistance to punches :nut

:think I'm sure that the Soviets had a secret genetic program to create a race of superwarriors. Now that the USSR has fallen apart, nobody knows their true identities ... except for the perspicacious posters at boxingforum24 :hey

This is going to be controversial, and yet provably true. White Europeans are taller and stronger than basically any other group of people, other than white Americans, but white Americans are comfortable so sports is ranked considerably lower on their preference of career paths due to upward economic mobility.

To be fair, I think that the Dutch are (as an average) about as tall as a white race as you can get. I'd put money on them being taller than Russians ;)

You're trying to disprove my point with data that confirm it

As you can see, north european countries have the tallest inhabitants in the world, and by significative margins.

And in a tall population in average, exceptionally tall individuals will be exceptionally taller, and below average people still not as small as people from toehr countries.

Size distribution in a population is a gaussian bell, in some populations of the earth those bells are shifted toward, in other regions, bakward.

You could say its a mix of hereditary vs. environment. Keeping my reply strictly European, the East tends to be stronger, and better athletes.

In boxing, Wlad, Kovalev and GGG are on top. They have amazing power, which brings me to point #1. Which Western European top dog has comparable power? None. Clazgahe was the best at 168 for a while, but he did it with speed, quickness and style, not power. Punchers for the most part are born, not made.

One thing is for sure, too much time has passed. This isn’t a fad, it’s a continuing trend and one that isn’t likely to go away for decades in terms of upper level boxing.

I don't agree with everything the below article says, but it has its share of points, particularly on the environmental side.

With all due respect -- are Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands in "Eastern Europe"?

    -- The average Russian is 5 ft 9 1/2.

    -- The average Spaniard is 5 ft 9 /1/2

    -- UK 5 ft 9 1/2

    -- USA 5 ft 9 1/2
    -- Mexico ft 5 ft 7 1/2

(Mexicans are genuinely shorties, which does indeed straightforwardly account for their success in lower weight divisions.)

When CST was confronted with this he said, oh, no it's not about height. It's, you know, about being all "burly" and stuff. We EE's are all burly.
