GGG was in attendance at the Khan fight and when interviewed was talking about a 15 day deadline. He was obviously pushing that agenda and pressuring the WBC to give Canelo that deadline. But now when the shoe is on the other foot, Golovkin has asked for not one but two exceptions to avoid his IBF mandatory.

This. The WBC doesn't make any money off GGG fighting scrubs like an inactive Vanes. GGG brought this on himself. Golvkin fighting Canelo means the WBC can make some money.

The Khan fight was in May, when Canelo signed to fight the Brit he agreed to that 15 day deadline, of course GGG will talk about it if he's asked to. 15 or 30 days it wouldn't have made any difference

I want Derevyanchenko to get his shot if IBF mandates the fightI if not any of the Top 5 would be good

No I don't quite go that far but although this is a business to them it's a sport to us and without us the money eventually dries up. They need to maintain the sporting aspect of this sport to some degree atleast.

If ppl like the WBC are free to target who ever they like and force fights that suit them while dragging ppl up and down their rankings based on what best suits them over who has earned a strong ranking eventually it will only do the sport harm.

I'm sure they have all been doing it for a long long time but it is just all so blatant now and the moves they are pulling off are getting more and more outlandish.

I will go that far because that's reality. My comments here have nothing to do with how I feel, it's just the reality of the situation. It was always like this, the only difference today is that earnings are obviously higher(surely you know economics so I'll leave it at that) and they're far more publicly announced than previous eras. This is a business and a job for these fighters and everyone deeply involved in the sport. If there was no money to be earned, the sport won't exist.

As far as fans are concerned, they will always line up and buy tickets/events if they're marketed right. Fans like you and me, that know what goes on down under, are 1% of the targeted public. That's why events will always sell regardless of era.

Take Golovkin for example. Fans like me know what's going on there and that this man is 99% hype and 1% actual effort and risk. The man is throttling the Middleweight division lining up hopeless bums and has been doing so his entire career and he's still selling and selling big. I personally don't tune in for his joke fights but the majority(the targeted casuals) do and think of him as the reincarnation of Tyson, Liston, Hagler and Dempsey all in one supreme package. Watch how his fans will disperse like cockroaches under light as soon as he loses one fight. Why?, because 90% of his fans are temporary casuals.

Back in the day, you earn paydays by taking risks. If you can't find actual risks in your division, you move up and do whatever it takes to impress and gather an actual fan base. Nowadays it's all social media trash talking, hype and mindless marketing for a mindless public. Again, follow Golovkin's career for a perfect recent example.

Right, your comments have nothing to do with how you feel. maybe you should re-read what you wrote because that shows how you feel.

The Golovkin part was nothing but an example, and yes it is how I feel from that part of the post onward.

Its indeed hypocritical when you compare the Stevenson situation to ggg.

Wbc is okay with Adonis taking his time with fighting his mandatories ( or actually, more like never) while they selectively enforce certain other ones.

because they want the canelo fight because everyone know golovkin will get robbed unless he knocks canelo out and they want him as wbc champion and if the fight doesn't happen they wanna try and take the title so canelo can fight for it probably against spike lol

WBC has always been corrupt to the core. Hell, they are saying that's it's OK for El Pollo to take PEDS! Only 6 month suspension because that's what El Pollo wanted. Povetkin was cleared by VADA, yet Haymon ordered the WBC to cancel the fight, then Povetkin was found innocent in court, again WBC is protecting Wilder! Haymon wants Wilder to fight Breazeale next, Haymon owns Breazeale, and the WBC is OK with that. Joshua knocked Breazeale out! No, Wilder will fight winos the rest of his life and never have to fight a real mandatory. How did Stiverne become a mandatory? Two times! WBC knows the fans are stupid, so they will continue cheating......................it's OK for El Pollo to take PEDS, but not other boxers........................forget it, boxing will always be corrupt. WBC wants to rob Golovkin, it is their plan along with Oscar's...................they will do what Oscar tells them to do. Charlo became mandatory by beating a cripple who couldn't walk across the ring, then he fought an unknown Pee Wee Herman! Call 702-486-2575 and demand a level playing field for all boxers, if we boycott boxing it will get their attention, suddenly the WBC and boxing commission will no longer think boxing fans are stupid! 702-486-2575
