It's an absolute cluster****. Loma was called the franchise champ, but originally you couldn't lose the franchise title in the ring, but Lopez became the WBC Franchise Champ because after he defeated Loma they changed their minds and said we can't have 2 Franchise Champions so Lopez lifted the title off of Loma. Haney was appointed the WBC Champion by the WBC. That's right he never beat a champ. He never even won it during a vacant title bout. Garcia is the Interim World Champ. Lopez is the only legitimate world champion at 135 pounds. Haney is not a Champion. Garcia is not a Champion.

WBC like other orgs does have a lot of different belts. Boxing orgs usually does have also belts called internim, intercontinental, international. There are also silver and diamond belts. Now looks that franchise and most likely soon golden belts too will be common thing in boxing orgs.
Well, first ranking per se was the Ring magazine belts since 1922 th. Then looks that this WBC since 1963 th and maybe this is reason.

Haney is the 2 time WBC email champion at 135 pounds and Garcia is the interim champion after his win last night but we all know he does not want to contest for the email championship against Haney or the Franchise championship against Lopez.
