Why are there no elite boxers from China?

    You often see some very good fighters coming out of the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, etc. But it seems the world's most populous country has effectively been left out, oddly enough.

    Why is this?

    From what I've heard, it's a new sport to them. There was a Chinese man way back when who moved to the Philippines to become a professional boxer. I forget his name. He even adopted a Filipino/Spanish name.

    I like this answer. Those two countries have the largest populations but they don't have no boxers.:huh

    Anyways, they're too busy practicing wing tsun cause it's the greatest fighting style.:good

    Boxing does not pay the bills. Boxing is not popular in China.The kids focus more on education or starting businesses.
