Mexican fighters don't generally train for speed and movement as much as they do for power and endurance. It's evident in the styles our fighters chose to fight in. What they lack in speed, they more than make up for in heart, chin, power, and balls.

I dont think it has much to do that the Mexican fighter does'nt train for speed.
The thread starter is referring to sick speed. The Ali, Leonard, Meldrick Taylor, Roy Jones type speed.

    Genetics play the main role.
The black athlete is generally as a whole quicker and faster. Its not just boxing its most any sport you can think of.

In any sport whether it be baseball, basketball, football, and what have you. Generally the quickest and fastest fighters are black.
White and Hispanic athletes are generally slower.

Yeah at 122 Barrera and Morales had fast handspeed. Maybe not p4p fast in that everyone at the low weights is usually fast, but they werent slow at all. If barrera was slow, he wouldnt be able to outland hamed.

DLH too but I guess they dont want to count mexican americans which IDK why its the same genetics.

I had the chance to interview him a few months back. Freddy only worked with him a few times... according to senior they only worked together about 5 times. I think the main advantage of going to wild card is the quality sparring.

You are confusing speed with the style of fighting, just because a fighters' style is not the hit and run type of fighting where he is counter punching the entire fight doesnt mean they dont have speed. Paez, barrera, morales, dlh all were fast punchers.
