why that takes alot skills to pull of stuff like those and plus thats how slick boxers entertain instead of brawling
hahaha, not sure why you complaining about this.... thats effectively complaining about people over-looking the subtleties of ANY sport..... The general consensus, the casual, the interested, go to a boxing match with the expectation of viewing a "Fight". When it becomes into a fencing match then they're gonna get a bit agitated about it. Also consider how many boo'rs have slurped down a few drinks. They going to an event where they can absorb aggression and feel it vicariously, and if they dont get that fix, they gonna act out that pent-up aggression and frustration. Yes they may be the casual and interested fans, but these are the same fans that fill up the seats and pay for your sport... so stop bellyaching about the bellyachers...
Casual fans have value to, they make rating and bring us or keep for us TV channels interested in buying and airing fights, because of the publicity made during that time becomes more profitable and they get paid comparable with the ratings they make. Without casual fans you'd see less and less fights on TV. So when you guys choose to **** on casual fans, think of the fights you would have loved to see live and couldn't or think that you once have been a casual fan to.
Casual fans are majority in every sport. The only way you become a hardcore fan it's when you have some knowledge about the sport, when you have practiced it somehow. It's why I can't follow hockey or American football .
Boxing has become a casual sport. There is no real structure and a fan can wait a lifetime before a no brain match will occur. In order to entice fans there needs to be a build up for inevitable match up, there needs to a reliable source responsible for ratings. The sports which garner the most attention are those that are regulated. The NFL,NASCAER, NBA, MLB, and UFC have become dominant in the US not happenstance but with endless attention to detail and marketing.
Overall boxing fans aren't that bad at a live event. I've heard way more booing the odd time that I've watched an MMA card then I normally hear watching boxing. Boxing fans will normally wait until the the fighters have felt eachother out a bit before booing whereas I've seen some MMA fights where the crowd starts booing in the first few minutes of the fight!
mma fans "play" boxing fans. manny pacquiao fans also "play" boxing fans. It's a silly, sad game that will inevitably lead to their own suicide
Your a casual fan you just wanna see someone knocked out so you can laugh, i would probably do that too if i was 70 and single
Yes, it's Mexicans, yes stereotyping, but yes it's Mexicans, watch boxing religiously and been to many live fights, blacks don't do it, whites don't do it even if they are there to see some Russian guy and waving a Russian flag around they still appreciate the chess match between two fighters, of Mexicans are there for Rios/Alvarado or any other fighter like Alvarez, they will boo the **** out of the fights because they want that main fight and that's it
Prize fighting has nothing to do with casual fan or die hard fan. It is about selling a product that people are willing to pay for. War and spectacular KO is what sells. Whether the paying fan respect the craft or not is irrelevant. All that maters is that they are buying.
