Bowe was good in his day but his style didn't suit longetivity because he was a man that loved wars. I like watching his fights in the early 90's but that's bout it. Anyone who licensed him was probably paid off or just has no concern for the well being of Bowe which ever comes first.

i said competitive...if he lost weight...and if he got in shape.

im leaning along the wishful thinking fence here.

Are you sure he sounds fine? Because I don't know if there's any science to support that his condition in the late 90's can be reversed. Do you have any links to recent interviews by chance? I'm not doubting you but I just find it hard to believe that he is suddenly coherent.

    Heres a recent one:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JInXbAf0a7Y[/ame]

You can hear he has the puncher's nasal sound due to the common deviated septum boxer's suffer from punches but otherwise coherent. He never sounded like an Oxford scholar but he is not slurring or inaudible in his speech.

Technically his tools are still very passable, he has his trade mark jab and heavy uppercut that he uses so well at the level he is applying it at right now. But like we all acknowledge, he slurrs, he has slower than hell reflexes and is no where near the level of competition he used to conquor. He is missing the game and is in many ways still a young man. But in boxing terms a geriateric.... People still pay to see him roll over a couple of clowns a year then its ok i suppose, but he is never going to hit those same heights, if he tries , someone or something has to roadblock him.. That is when he may run into trouble.......... as it stands , the circus continues.

No, no matter what he does he won't ever rediscover his old form.

He has lost his punch resistance and is way past his peak, which he hit around the first Holyfield fight. He just couldn't compete now and I wouldn't want to see him out of his depth. He has taken too much punishment, particularly against the cheating Golota and it has taken a lot out of him.

He still has a good jab and some nice combinations. Actually, in patches he looks very good.................against sub-par opposition.
