WBA/WBO/ IBF Lightweight Title, Sept 13th 9pm EST OddsBoth must fight for action.Joan Guzman-215 Nate Campbell+175 Above please find the ESB odds for this fight. I guess Guzman is the favorite because of his skill set and speed combined with his durable chin. I think that one of the bigest things that we are over looking is level of competition of each fighter. Below please find the Boxrec record for Guzman. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=58717&cat=boxer Who has he fought other than Humberto Soto? Campbell on the other hand has fought Casamayor in a close fight, Kid Diamond real name (Ramkoulyv or something) and beat that ass good, he fought Juan Diaz and beat that ass as well. I think that Nate takes this in impressive fashion, to big and battle tested for Joan even though he has the better skills. Cotto vs. Margarito come to mind, skills dont always pay the bills guys. Joan has never been hit like he is going to get hit this weekend so let's see how durable his chin isat 135lbs against a world class fighter! Nate wins this one, late Stoppage!! I will be here late saturday night pulling this thred up to remind y'all.
When the fight was announced i thought Guzman would win by comfortable UD. As the fight nears i am not so sure now. Nate is one of those fighters that is often underestimated; i have underestimated him before, but when hes fully focussed on his A game he is a beast. Diaz's relatively comfortable win over Katsidis highlights even more what an impressive win Campbell had over Diaz.
At first look I'd say Guzman wins a clear UD but don't know how he performs at 135,he is not particulary young and Nate might just rough him up just like with Diaz.Still Guzman UD
Campbell is the truth and Joan cant punch at this wieght. How will he keep Campbell off, in order to use his speed from a distance? I dunno!
I'm not underestimating Campbell at all. I give him a great shot at winning.... but I'm still favoring Guzman by a little.
Guzman is certainly a guy who's reputation is greater than his resume'. Aside from Soto and Agapito Sanchez, he hasn't fought a high level of comp. He hasn't been that active, either. I expect a good, close fight. Nate should definitely not be taken lightly.
