As if doing those tests for one fight would change anything.

The only way for those kind of tests will make any difference in the sport is if the boxing commissions change their rules and make them mandatory for every title fight(at least) otherwise its pointless.

I like how the nevada commision is so wrong yet when addressing the xylocaine situation where nevada is one of the few states that allow it, it is suddenly so right

Commisions are there to oversee things, not perfect but they do the job. Its like judges, their **** sometimes but what would you rather have, Floyd judging the fight to fix the corruption?

I wouldn't be opposed to revisiting the legality of xylocane so long as it came with a new template regarding the testing of pro boxers in the state.

definitely not perfect, never will be. But, my God, this is a logical step man. An overdue step. I don't care if Floyd was shitting 24 hrs a day scared to death of Manny, this style of testing would be a big notch in the belt of boxing.

If Floyd was the one to bring it about, deal with it!

So Floyd should choose the judgs for fights now? Does he make the rules?

Like Team Pac has said, if Floyd wants changes, take it up with the commision. As it is, he is not obliged to take it. Pac can offer catchweights to opponents, they are not obliged to accept it. Now if Floyd wants to force the issue and he truely wants to change the sport, he should take it up with the commision, because their the ones that make a difference, witchunting a guy hes scared to death of isnt gonna "clean up the sport".

Would this be the same response from people if say, Miguel Cotto asked for olympic testing?

I have no doubt Floyd did this for the sake of pissing off/fueling some vitriol on the heart of Manny Pacquaio and Top Rank. Instead of looking at it that way, I'm looking at it under the auspices that Floyd opened the door to a serious issue.

I'm not looking at this in a Floyd vs Pac way. I'm looking at it from the whole spectrum of boxing. This is something we can't avoid even if a dickhead brought it up.
