Why are you against Ward-GGG fight?

I guess she's not into Asian guys.

If GGG-Ward was fought tonight at 168 ,which you guys seem to want GGG would probably enter ring at 165-167 max Ward would enter ring at at least 178-180 Is that you guys idea of a fair fight? Plus GGG would have to go to Oakland to fight Ward wont fight anywhere else

 

Who is against the fight?
Ward needs to get these tune ups out of the way before he is ready.
6 months between tuneups though so it's going to take awhile

 

Pac did it, why cant GGG? Is it possible, Pac has more testicular fortitude then GGG.?.

 

As if Ward can hit 168 on a scale without draining the **** out of himself these days. There is a reason he's not fighting at 168 anymore and it's not because he's on some noble conquest.

I just read an article earlier today written in 2003 when Ward was trying out for the Olympics. At 19 years old he was weighing in at 178 the night before the weigh in and managed to cut down to 172 the next day. If he's rolling around the 170s at 19 years old no wonder it's impossible for him to get down to 168 without completely draining himself, which is obviously why he's going to continue his career in the LHW division.

 

Yeah, and Sugar Ray Leonard came out of retirement to move right up from 147 to fight Hagler at 160. However, Virgil Hunter says Ward needs over a year to "settle" into LHW before facing tough competition, like Kovalev. All this despite the fact Ward just fought at 172, which falls within the LHW division, THREE pounds from the 175 max.

 

First of all, Geale wasn't 180 in the ring -- he weighed in dressed wearing tennis shoes and having who knows what in his pockets. More importantly, he had to cut 3 additional pounds to be 157 the day before, so gaining too much weight after severe dehydration wasn't good for him anyway.

 

Why is this even talked about?

The ship for that fight has sailed. End of.

Ward is at 175 doing bigger and much better things now.

Kovalev is much much much better for his resume than Gennady. And that's a fact.

And it will happen.

GGG's resume fight has sailed away.

 

It was neat of 160 pound lineal champ Cotto to drain Geale down to 157 when it probably would have been difficult enough for him to make 160 for that fight. Geale was a complete shell of himself in that fight. He looked lost and ready to quite before the bell rang.

If Cotto is so god damn bad ass, he should fight his #1 ranked mandatory challenger, ffs. But he won't, because we all know Golovkin would ****ing crush him in completely brutal fashion.

 

Yeah, that TBA is really an achievement Golovkin can't match.

I'll give him credit for Kovalev when he actually fights Kovalev. So, you can hold on to your "I told you so's" for another year or two.

 

He's 33 and he still doesn't have one meaningful legacy fight yet, puh-lease.

Ward was the one name that he could have gotten on his resume and for it to mean big things, but now that ship has sailed away. Kovalev is going to mean much much much more than a GGG fight ever would have meant. :happy

Ward is striving for greatness, GGG will stay at 160 and have all these legacy defining fights escape from him.
