Why are you against Ward-GGG fight?

I agree, there is no sense to have a great purse against a PPV star and then have another PPV to get the last remaining belt. I would rather start negotiating with a diva who would start making unreasonable demands, will want to pick a location, referee, gloves, etc. to finally pull out when his demands are rejected.

 

None of GGGs fans or management are afraid of a fight with Ward.

K2 made a VERY generous offer 2 days after I emailed Tom Loeffler.

He made it public soas to squash the rumors before they started.

However, Roc, at the bequest of Prince, did not disclose the possible counter offers.

Hence, the reason the fight was not made for this fall.

FACT: Ward is the biggest SMW threat to GGG in terms of both skills and size.
FACT: Ward comes into the ring no less that 185lbs, EVEN when he was campaigning actively at 168.
FACT: GGG's HEAVIEST fight night weight was 171 lbs.

FACT: of the current crop of SMW titlists, Ward is not only the largest size wise, but he is also the best Wladimir Klitschko/Victor Postol impersonator. If the fight gets inside, Ward wrestles.

Now, GGGs strength, timing, and footwork could even the height disparity.
BUT......Martin Murray outwieghed GGG by just 4 lbs in their Monte Carlo clash, and for the first 2 rds, Murray was able to spoil and even win a rd vs GGG due to his constant grappling.

How much more would Ward spoil?:rofl

That said. GGG is gonna make between $8-$15 million between the Cotto/Canelo stepaside $$$ and his PPV with Lemiuex.
A fight with Lee/Saunders winner would do just as well, and depending on the PPV #s for Lemiuex fight, K2 will undoubtedly get a new deal for his regular HBO WCB fights.

Yes, a fight with Ward, at 168 with the testing and rehydration clause of 180 would be great for GGGs legacy, but ROC refused to ANTE UP.

K2 asked for an $8 million guarantee and 60% of total purse split.

So......between Prince, Roc, Ward and GBP, K2 took the best possible deal for their fighter, financially speaking and legaxcywise at this time.

And unless Ward IMMEDIATELY comes to those terms, GGG will be fighting Eubank Jr, Johnson, Wade, or Heiland next.

He's not abandoning his MW ambitions and his HUGE PPV paydays to be wrestled to death to a possible decision loss AND give away his millions in potential purses.

At 34, he's not really in a position to begin a rebuilding process.

Ward can wait.

Lemiuex is a world champion.

Much the same as was Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch when Ward beat them.

Lemiuex does bigger #s on HBO than does Ward and fights in GGGs weight class.

Lemiuex also has a huge fan base lining up to buy this PPV, increasing their perspective purses.

This PPV could do in excess of 500K, earning GGG and Lemieux more than $12/$8 million respectively.

Not saying that a Ward fight wouldnt make GGG big $$$. It could, but Wards team BALKED at the $8 million guarantee demanded by K2 to come all the way to 168. And the intitial 50/50 offer at 164 was turned down flat, and that would have MORE than DOUBLED Wards' previous career high payday and earned him twice what he made throughout the entire S6 tournament. :rofl

 

RocNation's release just showed that K2 and Little G clearly ducked Ward and want no part of facing A level fighter, unless they are welterweights fighting at MW, or B- level MWs.

GiGi is on a money making roll without achieving anything and K2 doesn't want to see the snake oil cart get over turned by a top A level fighters.

 

Because Gennady is staying at 160 to break Bernard Hopkins record.

 

1. Pavlik didn't have PPV fighters fighting in his division.
2. I am referring to the unification between GGG and Lemiuex, which figures to be a fantastic knockout in GGG's favor due to Lemiuex's aggression and lack of chin.
3. I am also referring to the lineal title fight between Alvarez and Cotto, which is for THE championship regardless of whether the RING says so or not.
4. I am also referring to Andy Lee, who is totally open to a fight with GGG.


So...

-GGG is poised to have his first title unification and PPV, with fun action and a brutal KO win virtually guaranteed.

-GGG is also poised to take out Andy Lee for a third title, assuming he gets past Saunders. Also very likely to end in a brutal KO.

-GGG is also the mandatory for the winner of a MASSIVE fight between Alvarez and Cotto...he also gets step-aside money...and he could be looking at taking on Alvarez next May in what would be a huge PPV event to unify the entire division.

But instead, he should move up and fight a p4p light heavyweight for no title, in a boring fight where he's going to look bad, for a tiny fraction of the money?

Why?

Because Ward has nobody else decent to fight except Golovkin and Kovalev. He got himself into the corner by signing with Jay Z and thus ruling out fights with Haymon people: DeGale, Jack, Dirrell brothers, Stevenson, Fonfara, JCCJ, Beterbiev, etc.

Ward is afraid to fight Kovalev, so he wants to take on the smaller guy. So, Wardiots (including former Flo_mos who hate Golovkin for chasing Floyd and being more popular than Floyd) keep opening their stinky mouths spitting feces in this and other forums.

 

Golovkin wasn't chasing Mayweather. He just mentioned in passing that he would consider going down to 154 to fight him but I doubt it was serious. Same as when people were asking Floyd he if he would go up to 160. But this was many years ago and is long forgotten. Nowhere near the type of comical, desperate chasing that Amir Khan did.

So many threads on the great Andre Ward fighting the timid Little g, you would think there would be more Cotto or Alvarez vs Little g threads.
Perhaps this is because of the three potential match-ups for Little g, the Ward match is the most dangerous and the most desired by ESB fans?

The prospect of Little g facing A-Side Ward definitely has GiGi fans leaking in their little panties.

 

GGG made the typical mistake of letting his mouth overload his ass. I can understand that because it happens sometimes. He needs to man up and admit that he is not ready for Ward. Instead he's still running his mouth and he knows that he is lying to himself. Ward has moved on and has his sights set on a Kovalev fight. Right now GGG is the man at 160 but he needs to stay in his lane because Ward would have torn his ass up.
