How the f*** are people complaining about holding with that judging we saw? Yes Abril held but he also made rios follow him, countered him, jabbed him, landed many hooks to the body, landed combos when he wanted, had his face in rios' and took his punches etc etc

Even with this weak ass putana argument Abril did more than rios so he still got robbed either way you wanna argue/look at it

I hated the way Abril fought. It was so boring.

He still won nearly every round.

Abril's style won't get him too many fans but he did what he needed to do to frustrate Rios and make Rios follow him making mistakes.

What I was looking at round by round where all the clean shots Abril was landing on Rios and all the shots Rios was missing. Rios needs to be able to make adjustments, set traps, feint, and use his legs better.

Garcia kept begging for the jab and Rios never let one go.

Garcia begged for head movements, and Rios was giving Abril a stationary target. Rios couldn't even move his waist!

A better Question for Jr Middleweight is why defend Rios so much when he's such a limited fighter?

An Elite fighter can overcome anystyle put infront of him. Look at Chavez Sr. He dominated a slick Camacho, a boxer puncher in Rosario, hung in there focused and worked on Taylor till he got his opening. the list goes on...

The point I'm trying to make is Abril brought a difficult style, an ugly one but it helped him out land Rios. Rios never tried to make adjustments just picked up the pace. Rios was lost and had no plan B. Abril was robbed in disgusting fashion.

It's not as much as me defending Rios because I'm some sort of fan of his. I'm more outspoken about this because I found watching Abril fight really irritating. I kept yelling at the screen, towards the ref, asking him to take a damn point away. Basically, I tuned in to watch a fight. Abril didn't come to fight, that's my beef. Then you guys are in here defending him and his hugging, his running, his grabbing. **** him, he deserves his losing decision. I could have done what he did last night.

It is irritating when you are expecting a Barrera vs Morales type of war. But not all fights go down like that amigo. Some fighters employ tactics to frustrate their opponents, smother their shots, tie em up, push, whatever craftyness one can do to allow one to out land their opponent.

I know it's frustrating to see your fighter getting held and negated the way he was being handled, But Rios needs to figure out what to do in these situations. Abril ain't the only fighter to employ these type of tactics. So what's going to happen if he gets an opponent at 140 who hits harder than Abril and implements the same tactic? If Rios doesn't work on a plan B he might not be so fortunate next time.
