Most of you on this board are Floyd haters so why are you so concerned about his next fight? So for his final fight he has chosen to fight Berto. Okay, Berto has had his ups and downs, he will be a huge underdog but at the same time isn't this Floyd's retirement party? The fight is clearly going to be a non PPV CBS match. That means free network television haters!! Floyd has made so much money off the Pac fight that there really is no need for him to fight another high profile PPV match this soon. For Sept 12 Floyd is basically saying goodbye and this fight is for his true fans. So with that said, haters just go about your business, dont worry about what Floyd does at the end of his career, and if you need something keep talking up Golovkin into a fight with Andre Ward....write him a check his azz cant cash.
Floyd has been such a financial success for one big reason, he evokes strong emotion. Hardly anyone is neutral in regards to him. With that in mind, you have to expect a strong reaction to whoever he fights. A fight against Berto appears to be a complete mismatch. Whether people love or hate Floyd, they know that he's an excellent fighter. So fighting Berto is seen as a waste of time. Mayweather critics want to see him really challenged in a fight, and Berto isn't the guy for that job. Realistically, no one from 154 on down is, but that's a different story. I would've been highly surprised if Mayweather wasn't panned for this fight. At the end of the day, he's going to get what he wants so there's no reason to defend him here. What's happening now is what he wants.
Because they really adore Floyd. They expect him to give a payday to GGG or some **** but fuq him too. Most of these jokers like gramsey or swastika graffiti artist zimornsky are angry that their favorite fighter is barely getting after dark time and PBC fighters are on prime time. Boxing promoters and fans need to be on their knees thanking Al Haymon
Floyd is the best boxer I've ever seen. (notice I didn't say fighter) I'm not a Floyd fan, but I recognize his talent. My biggest complaint about him is why he does these things. I honestly think he could beat anyone available for this fight. Some will be harder than others. If he really wanted to give his true fans a parting gift it should be a good fight. Not feeding you guys another line of bull, and expecting you to take it and smile. Khan, Bradley, Thurman, Porter, Brook, Garcia, I'm sure none of these guys would have turned that fight down. C'mon guys. It's not a gift, that's an easy way out of his contract.
Most of us don't but you mayweather fans infect the board with multiple threads justifying his cherry picking so as boxing fans we voice our opinion same as you with other fights !
I feel the same way tbh. I had some interested in his past fights but now, meh :tired Not expecting much out of this or his future fights. And lol and people saying he "deserves" and easy fight
Why are you so concerned that they're concerned that you felt a need to make a thread dedicated to it?
For Mayweather to fight a non PPV the opponent would have to be on Berto level. A higher caliber opponent means another PPV event which Floyd is not interested in promoting at this time
Because we are boxing fans and would like to see arguably the best boxer on the planet fight top fighters (after all he only has like 3 fights left at most)
